The Marien Puerto Plata is a beautiful complex. The staff was friendly, but at the restaurants it took a long time to get served a beverage. The food was good, and although there are a few restaurants to choose from the food selection is very limited. The furniture in rooms at the hotel are outdated. The doors of the closet of the room I stood were sliding doors that didn’t slide anymore, they were stuck and the mirror of the closet door was rusted. We were charged $3 per day to be able to use the in room safe… I’ve never had a resort charge for that. One thing I did absolutely love about the resort was the pool area. It was beautiful. (The bartenders at the pool bar have to be a little more upbeat.). The entertainment was also good.

"The rooms are small but very clean. There wasn’t any hot water for the shower, but it didn’t bother me since the weather was hot outside. The place is also very quiet—perfect if you’re just looking to relax."
