Great location with beautiful staff

A quick stopover on our way back to Rome. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Located in a central area close to old city. Breakfast was lovely. We had a standard room which was all they had left and it perfect with all that you need.

A great boutique hotel with the greatest views of the city and surrounding countryside. Staff is fantastic and the hotel is easy walking distance to all attractions and restaurants. Rooms are all nice but I recommend staying in one of the rooms located in ‘the Cave’. A most memorable experience that I will not forget! Breakfast was very good and having drinks served out on the patio was fantastic. You will not regret booking Il Belvedere!

Absolute best view and service in Matera. The only other higher rated hotel does not have a view of the beautiful town but of the rocks in canyon. David was most helpful. Cave room was unique experience.

Fantastic Staff

When you show up soaking wet before checkin time, and you’re offered a coffee while they try to arrange early checkin, the hotel gets top marks before you see your room. But cave room 44 was warm and comfy. Great breakfast that you can take out on the balcony to enjoy the views. And drinks available to enjoy the sunset. Plenty info and maps. You can walk everywhere, but it is a lot of ups and downs on cobblestones. Because of the rain we opted to use the expensive parking just before the hotel. Works great if you plan to just park your car, as there are no in/out privileges, but it maxes out at 10E per calendar day.

Nice spacious clean rooms. Bathroom had an excellent shower. Spectacular views from the patio/dining area. Friendly staff. The only negative was that our room was on the second floor and the elevator did not go there, so that if someone has difficulty walking, that room would not be suitable. A family member had a room on the 1st floor so there was no problem.

A gorgeous view of the Sassi and Matera. We were a quick walk from sites and food, plus had easy free parking close by. The staff were very friendly and the room was gorgeous. Be ready to get your stair-master on. There was an inside direct road into Matera Saadi center, but we preferred to wander the old part with gorgeous views over the valley. So up and down we went.

Lovely hotel and amazing terrace with the absolute best view over Matera. Wonderful breakfast buffet with great coffee served out on the terrace, staff were all very helpful and great to enjoy some afternoon drinks after exploring all day with an incredible view.

Location was so unique overlooking the Sassi . Nighttime was magical. We arrived early and Davide welcomed us; nothing was too much trouble! He arranged for us to have a coffee and custard brioche as we had missed breakfast that morning due to an early start. We could not have arrived on a better day as it was a special Festa and we were invited to see the fireworks from the balcony at 1am - front row seats!! HOTEL MARAVILHOSO Passamos uma noite em Matera e a escolha do hotel não poderia ter sido melhor. Primeiro e importante ponto é a facilidade de se chegar ao hotel arrastando suas malas, já que nessa parte antiga de Matera carros não circulam e dependendo de onde vc escolher é perrengue certo: muitas escadas e ruas de pedras rústicas! Há um estacionamento pago há 150 metros do hotel! Passei por 7 hotéis na região da Puglia/ Basilicata/Roma e o IL BELVEDERE foi sem dúvidas o melhor atendimento! Que educação, que gentileza da recepção. Nota 1000/10!!! Ficamos na melhor suite do hotel, suite Júnior que é simplesmente fantástica, super confortável e moderna mas dentro de uma caverna! Ganhamos um vinho para brindar nossa estadia neste lugar perfeito! Foi um sonho realizado conhecer Matera e este hotel ajudou a melhorar nossa experiência neste lugar SURREAL!!!
