Perfect one night stay in the center of Sassy. The room was amazing! Big tub, nicely decorated, and great view. Friendly staff, very helpful when trying to reach the place. Note: bathroom space is visible. Water bottles would have been a nice especially given the warm weather.

Amazing stay in Matera!

Simply amazing stay in Matera. Modern, comfortable, fully reimagined sassi- it was even better than it looked! The hotel provided very helpful parking and bus instructions, and were super friendly. Breakfast was delicious. Definitely recommend!

Amazing place, highly recommend staying here when you visit Matera. The staff and environment is worth the travel through the cobblestone with your suitcase Not being sarcastic, genuinely worth every penny staying here.

Great stay in a grotto. The staff was great, excellent location in the old town of Matera and the breakfast was superb. I wish the Wi-Fi was better and the room did have a musky odor from being a cave but all in all a great experience.

Hotel and Matera were amazing however the breakfast was not great and service was lacking took an entire day to get back to us about the spa (they were checking availability” to then tell us it was out of order. Also told me it was impossible to get cab to the hotel which was also incorrect

Unforgettable experience!

Amazing experience! Not only the place is amazing (it is a suite built in the rocks=sasso) but the genuine concern for the guests begins even before the arrival (they contacted in advance providing information and giving alternatives for parking as the hotel is in a restricted traffic zone). Owner and team are very nice and approachable.

Probably the most stylish hotel in Matera.

Elisabeth is a great host, being friendly and helpful all the time. We tried one of the restaurant she recommended us "La Gatta Buia" we love the dishes so much, don't miss out the appetizer or snacks-like crispy peppers. The room is at tip top condition, a stylish room with comfy bed in an ancient city, we love the interior and location of this hotel. Waking up in the morning, sitting in the terrance, enjoy the view that the city has to offer! Breakfast is another highlight, wide selection to choose from, the staff are so friendly keep asking us is there anything else we need, and the cappuccino is nicely brewed too!

Hotel was great. Hotel stated they sent me a message through What’s up App not to drive to the hotel because it is in a restricted area and you are required to have authorization to drive in the area. I don’t have the what’s up app so I was unaware of the restriction and received a traffic citation.

All the things were great, except that the check out arrangement were terrible. The staff supposed to arrange a shuttle bus for us to go back the car park. However, the staff didn't tell us and did not answer the phone, when the shuttle is arrived. So we missed the shuttle and the outside temperature is over 35 degree , so we have to find our way back to the car park.

Lovely place to stay in Sasso Barisano! Access was a bit tricky for older folks with heavy cases, but you have to expect stairs (and lots of them) in Matera. Beautifully renovated, spacious and well equipped room. Comfortable bedding and sofa. Nice continental breakfast was supplied.
