"Everything was good clean room nice place would stay again"

"Pulling up, it was very unpleasant window foggy, chipped stucco and paint peeling....from the moment I walked in. I knew this was taking a turn for the worst. Got our keys went down the hall…Stains in the hall and an awful fishy odor in the hall leading up to the elevator. Walked into elevator and smelled like urine, stains on walls and floor hadn't been cleaned in a while didn't even wanna push the buttons to go up. Definitely need some scrubbing. Go into our very room, which was nothing like the photos online. This was a dark, dimly lit, grey painted room and all the photos are bright, orange and yellow walls, which is I picked it this hotel. bright & updated… The room we got was an interior room with a huge exterior double window looking into the hall.... people walking by our window could see in so we had to keep the curtain closed which made the room even darker. Hall balcony had a slant to it felt like the structure was off as you walk. Asked to move they said no. So we were stuck in the room. Then I started looking around. Ottoman, side chair and desk chair stained (photos to prove) so dirty we didn't sit on them, I can imagine what I had to sleep in. Stain on carpet as well. Hotel phone dead. Bathroom grout black mildew & rust on the shower spout and cap around spout hanging off which made us not want to shower we had no choice but to stay, left early in the morning as quickly as we could. Highly disappointed the whole place felt dirty. Do better!"

"I have always enjoyed staying at Hampton and have consistently received great service, which is why this experience was so disappointing. We left our room early in the morning expecting it to be cleaned by the time we returned, but it had not been serviced. When I went to the front desk to inquire, I was told that housekeeping needed to prioritize rooms from guests who had checked out so they could be prepared for incoming guests. While I understand that process, in my experience at other hotels, housekeeping is usually able to service occupied rooms before afternoon check-in times. We left again and returned later, only to find that the room still had not been properly cleaned. Fresh towels had been left, and the beds were made, but the sheets had not been changed nor the floor was vacuum nor wiped. There was also a clump of hair on the floor that had not been picked up which was very disappointing. I do want to recognize one staff member who stood out. She had short curly hair and was incredibly kind and welcoming to everyone. Unfortunately, I did not get her name, but she provided excellent customer service and made a positive impression during our stay. I will continue to choose Hampton because of my past positive experiences, but I hope housekeeping standards improve to match the level of service I have come to expect from the brand."
