Nature right outside the cabin door

From the time we walked in this place was so comfortable. It is well stocked and there is lots to do, from hiking to games and books. We will definitely be returning.

Great secluded cabin

Vicki is a great host, and Chubby Frog Cabin is awesome! We loved the privacy and the cleanliness of the cabin. We really appreciated the extras that Vicki provides, from snacks and games to plenty of towels and soaps, etc. We will definitely stay at Chubby Frog Cabin if we visit Hocking Hills again!

Perfect secluded cabin

We enjoyed our stay at the Chubby Frog cabin very much. The cabin was well stocked and clean and had everything you could think of for a great family weekend...games and puzzles, binoculars and bird guides, walkie talkies, campfire supplies (including s'more ingredients!), bug spray, towels, recommendations for where to go and what to do in the area including maps, detailed information about every aspect of the cabin amd the area, etc. ...and the hosts could not have been more helpful when we had an issue with one of our cars right before leaving. I highly recommend this gem of a place!

Wonderful cabin!

It was the perfect location for a great getaway. The cabin is well appointed. The hosts are wonderful and very helpful. We loved all the nature and watching all the wildlife. Would definitely recommend a stay at the Chubby Frog!

Great getaway

We had a great time at the Chubby Frog. It was so secluded and private. Very close to all of the main attractions in Hocking Hills. The cabin had everything you could need and soooo much more. We will definitely be back again. Thanks again Vicki and Steve for a great stay.

Book this cabin now! Just do it. Trust me - we just had an amazing stay!

We had an amazing week at the Chubby Frog cabin! A huge bowl of Hostess/Little Debbie treats greeted us as soon as we walked in the front door!! The owners had thought of everything we could possibly need and more! We really enjoyed getting to see all of the wildlife on a daily basis, and you can't beat the proximity to Ash Cave, Old Man's Cave, Conkle's Hollow, and Cedar Falls! This place is a little slice of heaven!

Chubby Frog Cabin

If you like wildlife and getting away from the city this is your place. We saw deer, turkey, raccoons, squirrels, and all kind of birds. We hiked and ziplined and thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub at the end of the day. Steve and Vicki have anticipated your needs to make your stay a great one. The cabin is great, and has something for all ages.

Home away from home

Vicki and Steve have the most beautiful cabin! We enjoyed our stay so much. Waking up and seeing the birds eating from the feeder was so nice! The hot tub was wonderful. The kids really loved having such an open space to play. My husband and I enjoyed the fire pit and hearing animals we don't get to hear in the city. The Chubby frog is a well loved cabin and we hope to return in the future. If you are looking for a place that brings you serenity and rest for you soul you will find it here!

Great Experience

Owners were very helpful throughout the whole process. The house was clean, and had everything you would need to stay for a few days. We will be staying again next time in the area. Owners responded within a few minutes of every message. The house lost power about an hour before we got there, and owner called to keep me updated, then called back when the power was restored. Highly Recommend!

Total serenity!

It was gorgeous! Totally secluded cabin. Magnificent location. The property itself was tastefully designed and sparkling clean. Communication with the owner was quick and easy. She was very on top of everything. They thought of everything! From games for kids, to smores supplies, to food to feed the wildlife there. The natural surroundings were spectacular - we only wish we could have stayed longer! Highly recommended.

Charming Private Cabin

We had a great stay at the Chubby Frog Cabin near Hocking Hills. The owners created a great getaway in the woods with amenities like S’mores ingredients, first aid, bug spray, flash lights, hot tub and fire pit. Have fun feeding the wildlife, hiking nearby in the state park or at the private Bison Hollow that you get access to as a guest at the Chubby Frog. Enjoy a hot tub or relax in the deck listening to the humming birds. Our kids loved the pool and air hockey tables, too. A great place to relax for a long weekend and the owners provided great directions and info on the area. Highly recommend.

I wish I could give chubby frog 6 stars!!

We had an amazing time at Chubby Frog. Everything was clean and comfortable and exactly as described, but there was so much more. The extra touches were great- activities and toys for the kids, binoculars for watching the wildlife, chairs set in the perfect spot for watching the sunset, the fire pit ready to go with a pre-made fire. The hosts literally thought of everything! The private hiking in Bison Hollow is amazing! We felt like we had our own private state park. I can’t recommend this cabin highly enough. We can’t wait to come back.

Paradise

What an absolute treasure! Off the beaten path in your own private slice of paradise. You are surrounded by nature on all sides. Enjoy the views from every room in the cabin and the multi level deck. The cabin was clean and equipped with everything you could possibly need and then some!! The owners have truly thought of everything. Communication was great, Vicki checked in with us before our visit and was quick to respond to the few questions we had while we were there. Would highly recommend to everyone - we will be back!!

Amazing

This was an amazing place to stay. We had a family of 6 for a 3 night stay. We had a great time, the youngest in our family was 4 years old and there where so many things for the kids and the 4 year old to do. The owner was on it. Every question was answered in a short time. The place had everything we needed down to the smallest details. I was amazed on how accommodating the place was. We over packed because we didn't know what to expect. I can't say enough good things about the place, and it's owner.

Vicki and Steve have thought of everything when it comes to accommodating their guests! Between the beach towels for the hot tub, folding chairs for the campfire, full size shampoo and body wash, to the condiments, candy and snacks, whatever you might have forgotten at home, there is a good chance they have it! We especially enjoyed the secluded hike into Bison's Hollow! We had the entire waterfall to ourselves! I enjoy replenishing the food to feed the wildlife and then watching videos on the critter cam! And being able to do laundry so we take home clean clothes! The owners are incredibly responsive and keep a beautiful home!

One of the reasons we chose to stay at the Chubby Frog is because of the great reviews, and they were spot on. This house is very clean and very well maintained, really just very comfortable and homey. Vicki is very responsive and was the first to initiate contact with me before our trip. She was very helpful and honestly probably the best host we have ever stayed with. Cupboards were stocked with snacks, spices, condiments, soap, toilet paper and papertowels. The location was great, beautiful scenery with hiking on the nature preserve and a winery both just down the road. 20 minute drive to Campbell's Market for groceries and if you come you HAVE to check out Jack Pine glass studio in Laurelville! Everyone in my group was happy and we all agreed we will come again! Thank you Vicki and Steve!

Everything we wanted

The house had everything we wanted and more. The house has a wonderful wrap around two story deck that gets wonderful breezes and provides an overlook for the nearby woods. The house is full of big windows that provide a great view of the canopy of trees. The hosts have provided numerous bird feeders and there was a continuous stream of wildlife visiting the house. On the first day we scared some wild turkeys as we parked. We like to cook and the kitchen was very clean. The grill looked brand new. It was very nice to be on vacation with a dishwasher. We over packed food but the refrigerator was more than large enough for everything we brought. The provided snacks were a nice bonus. It poured down the first day we were there, but the house had more than enough activities to keep us entertained. There were activities for our kids, including crayons, coloring books, and bubbles. We brought a tote full of activities for the kiddos and didn't even need to open it. We hiked to Bison Hollow on the second day, and were glad we brought spare boots. The hiking trail was kind of overgrown and combined with the rain, our boots & pants were soaked even before we reached the streams. That said, we had a blast and it was nice to relax in the hot tub after a long hike. We are already trying to figure out when we can come back.

The cabin was way out there so if you are looking for privacy, this is it! I was concerned when we first arrived that the cabin would be too small for 6 of us...especially since it rained the majority of the time and we'd all be "house bound" far from any other means of entertainment. It turned out that there was plenty of space to escape when needed and we all had a very pleasant stay. The owner had the best communication of any VRBO local I've stayed in which was greatly appreciated. The house was stocked with just about all the basics you could think of. We didn't run out of anything. I'd like to give a great review of the yard, balconies, and surrounding area but due to rain and bad weather, we unfortunately didn't get to utilize it. It looked very well kept, though, with lots of feeders to watch the animals...and lit up merrily for Christmas! I did manage to hike for a little over an hour towards the falls but again, due to rain, the trails just started to get too mucky and slippery. Hiking alone, I didn't think it was wise to go farther...but in great weather, the trail would be wonderful and easy to traverse. The short amount of time we used the upper balcony was nice despite the cold. Wish we could have been out there all weekend. Inside we were warm and dry, though. Everything was clean and functioned properly (and there were instructions for EVERYTHING so you weren't stuck trying to use the appliances, tech, etc.). All in all, we had a great New Year's getaway with friends and we didn't even get to utilize everything! I'm sure in warm weather, this spot would be ideal. OH...and print out the directions to get there...while our sat nav did fine, we did lose cell service for a bit on the drive over. Happy New Year!

Get away from it all!

Chubby Frog has just about anything one could want! We stayed with 6 adults but the cabin was stocked for all ages. The hosts think of absolutley everything from bug spray to marshmellows. Its remote, quiet, and private. Huge highlight is all the wildlife. We will be back again.

Family get away

We enjoyed a long weekend at the Chubby Frog Cabin. Communication with the hosts was quick and easy. They shared detailed directions for arrival and information about their property. The kitchen was well stocked. We were able to cook and prepare meals with ease. Location is great. We hiked every day and visited the local wineries. Thank you!!

We stayed at the Chubby Frog Cabin for 5 days and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The location is perfect—peaceful, scenic, and surrounded by nature. We saw plenty of wildlife during our stay, which made the trip even more special.The cabin itself was spotless and well-stocked with everything we needed. It’s clear that the owners take great care to make sure guests are comfortable. Speaking of the owners—they were amazing. There was an unexpected issue with the WiFi (not their fault), and they went above and beyond by coming out that same evening with a hotspot. This was a huge help since my wife is a grad student and had assignments due.Communication throughout was excellent. The owners were incredibly responsive and made us feel well taken care of from start to finish.Highly recommend the Chubby Frog Cabin—we’d definitely stay here again
