Massanutten Resort

8/10 Good

"The overall resort was nice for the location. I'd say the water park and arcade are heavily overpriced. If you want to spend that much on water park tickets, travel a few more hours down to Williamsburg and go to Water Country. The water park is much larger for the exact same price. But if you want the Shenandoah area then it's fine. Arcade is heavily overpriced though. There's no getting around that. We spent $80 on credits and went through them in about half an hour. Almost every game is 9-10 credits. Which is wild. Even the cost of the prizes was extremely high regarding tickets. It'd be 500 tickets for a bag of candy that you can normally buy elsewhere for $3. (For reference, for the $80 we spent on credits we got 975 tickets and that was with us trying to win tickets.) The restaurants and the facilities were good. Everything is well maintained. The remotes didn't work for the TV. It would turn the TV on but you couldn't actually navigate the TV options. Also, if you don't want to get roped into doing a timeshare walk through you pretty much have to avoid standalone employees. Avoid the tents. Just don't go near them or you'll have to listen to how you can get a 3 days 2 nights vacation for $129, over and over and over again. Even if you tell them you heard the same offer before, they'll keep trying to sell it to you. Only cool employee was Ethan. He grasps social cues and knows when to stop pursuing a sell."

"This cabin was wonderful. It’s priced just right and has a great location. Kevin was great with communication. I think the previous renter was rough on the property because there are some minor updates/repairs that need to be done in the home (ie football table, some minor screen damage, some loose baseboards, etc), but nothing that disrupts from the overall stay. The house is large and well maintained. It’s in a prime location for all resort activities and a short drive to local areas like Harrisonburg and they Skyline Drive. Would stay here again!"

"The property was very clean, comfortable and nicely updated. It was also well stocked with all the basic kitchen necessities and appliances. There was plenty of room for people to gather in the kitchen/dining area as well as the living room. The host was very responsive to communication and sent easy and clear instructions for checking in and out. The property felt secluded and peaceful but was only a short drive to all the Massanutten amenities."

"A great house. Driveway is scary unless you are a mountain goat. I can't imagine getting in and out in a snowy winter. Too many scattered and unlabeled remotes. TV Channel selection seemed to be whatever was on Samsung Plus. Some doors missing lock pieces. Arrangement for trash disposal was awkward, MPOA needs to work on something better."
