Osprey Nest Lakefront -sleeps 12, close to village
10/10 Excellent
"We were not there much because we had a family wedding on Saturday, but we did enjoy the peacefulness and the view of the lake as well as a well supplied cottage my only complaint was the coffee pot. It needs to have some vinegar run through it because it’s quite clogged up and took forever to make coffee other than that. Everything was great."
Le Temps Perdu: 88 Acre Wilderness Park between Historic Westport and Perth
10/10 Excellent
"Tracey and Hernan are top notch people, and they offered us a lovely place to relax. An 80 acre farm where you can walk through well maintained trails to see their lovely horses and nature. The hosts are there if you need anything, always helpful, and cordial. The cabin its cozy and beautiful! It has an amazing and secluded deck area to relax, and play with their friendly cats. Its a beautiful well maintained place, and we loved there. Thank you Tracey and Hernan for your hospitality and your nice and thoughtful gifts. Silvia, and Peter St. Pierre "
"This property is incredible. It’s a smaller but cute and comfortable cottage. It was clean and they were very accommodating to us. The hosts were friendly and ready to help. It’s hidden in the trees but not too remote either! With wifi included it was a comfortable stay. We were able to see multiple deers around the property and felt very safe. There was little to no bugs surprisingly! The lake is a 30 second walk where you can enjoy fishing. We were able to catch a couple different bass and it was a huge adrenaline rush. Westpoint is a good little town to walk thru and don’t forget about the many awesome tours Kingston offers less than an hour away! "
"The setting of this house is beautiful, right on a nice lake with a dock for a boat. Knowing that many lake rentals can be rustic, I was willing to pay three times the going rate when I saw it advertised as “luxury living.” To protect ourselves, we booked and paid in full through Vrbo rather than accepting the owner’s offer to pay less in cash off-platform.The property isn’t terrible, but it is nowhere near the standard you’d expect for a luxury rental at this price. We were assured of privacy and exclusive use, but on arrival, the owner informed us a “caretaker” would be on-site. When we pulled in, two people were sitting on the dock with drinks—the caretaker and a guest—whose cottage was right next to ours.We were also told to expect flying insects, which didn’t bother us since we live in the woods. What did bother us was finding the house full of days’ worth of dead bugs, sticky spills on the kitchen floor, dirt and hair in the fridge, hair in the bathroom and shower, and cobwebs on ceilings throughout the house. I ended up vacuuming on day one just to make it feel usable. The house simply isn’t luxury. It lacks air conditioning, a washing machine, and even closets. Linens were cheap, pillows were flat, and geese took over the yard and dock. While the lake itself is lovely, the overall experience fell far short of expectations and value. We ultimately felt uncomfortable and left early."
Pine Bay Hideaway. Perfect waterfront escape in a lakeside retreat!
10/10 Excellent
"The property is situated on a beautiful, tranquil lake. The check-in process was seamless, and the welcome binder provided clear and helpful information. We thoroughly enjoyed using the kayaks to explore the lake. We were very pleased to find the property even more spacious than expected."
"Very nice, private site with lots of forested area around. The tent is spaceous and cozy with comfortable, warm beds and all of the amenities. The kitchen gazebo was well stocked for dishes and cooking equipment, as well as minifridge, stove and bbq. Latchable cabinets for food storage as well. The site is very well maintained and clean. The nighttime lighting really creates a relaxing ambiance. Sibo and Gee are lovely hosts. 10/10 would recommend!"
