Disappointing Stay – October 16–18 We stayed at the Sheraton Downtown Philadelphia from October 16–18 to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a nice birthday weekend turned into one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. To start, check-in was a bit of a hassle. I had to return to the hotel lobby, after waiting in my car for 10 minutes, because I never received the QR code needed to access the parking garage. While the staff was generally very friendly, the first night of our stay was an absolute disaster. We were placed on the 5th floor, where a group of approximately 10–15 teenagers appeared to be staying. They ran up and down the hallways throughout the night, slammed doors, sang loudly, and were incredibly disruptive. I contacted the front desk to report the noise, but unfortunately, nothing seemed to improve. Around midnight, on the same night, we received what appeared to be a prank phone calls, which ultimately led me to unplug the room phone. About two hours later, we were jolted awake by the fire alarm blaring throughout the hotel. The alarm continued for approximately 10 minutes. Once again, the front desk apologized and essentially told us to remain on standby. I understand that hotels cannot control every situation, but the lack of any meaningful resolution or follow-up was extremely disappointing.
