About this property
Colonial Home for 6 · Garden · Historic Downtown
Summary:
Colonial home in the heart of Mérida's Historic Downtown — two blocks from Parque La Plancha and a 10-minute walk from Plaza Grande. High ceilings, mosaic tile floors, a private garden and air conditioning in every room, so you can truly rest after a day exploring the most vibrant city in southeastern Mexico.
Two bedrooms, three private bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and space for up to 6 guests. The house is entirely yours for the duration of your stay.
The Space:
The house has the character of the colonial and the comfort of the modern. Thick walls that hold the cool air, high ceilings that breathe, and in every room: air conditioning and a ceiling fan so you can sleep at exactly the temperature you want.
Primary bedroom
King size bed, air conditioning, ceiling fan and smart TV. Ideal for couples or anyone who wants the best rest of the trip.
Second bedroom
Two double beds with air conditioning, ceiling fan and smart TV. Perfect for friends, siblings or families with kids.
The three bathrooms
One per area, so there are never lines at 7 in the morning. Towels and toiletries included.
The private garden
The soul of the house. Green, quiet and completely exclusive to guests. The perfect place for that first coffee of the day, an afternoon read, or simply doing nothing, which is just as valid.
The kitchen
Fully equipped: refrigerator, gas stove, microwave, coffee maker, blender and everything you need to cook whatever you like. Dining table for 6 people.
Practicalities
High-speed WiFi throughout the property. Washer and dryer included. Pack light, we've got the rest covered. The Historic Downtown is completely walkable, so a car is the last thing you'll need.
Guest Access:
The entire house is yours. Both bedrooms, the three bathrooms, the kitchen, the private garden and every corner of the common areas, without sharing anything with anyone else.
Our local team will personally welcome you at the property to handle check-in, walk you through the house at a relaxed pace and answer any questions before leaving you all settled in.
The Neighborhood:
Living in Mérida's Historic Downtown is not the same as visiting it. From this house, you experience the city the way its people do.
Everything is within a 10-minute walk: Plaza Grande with the Cathedral of San Ildefonso, the Government Palace with Fernando Castro Pacheco's murals, the 16th-century Casa de Montejo, and the Lucas de Gálvez Market where locals start their day with a bowl of sopa de lima, and a street full of restaurants, bakeries and coffee shops around every corner.
On Thursday evenings, the Serenata Yucateca takes over Parque Santa Lucía, free entry, live music and one of those moments you don't forget. On Sundays, Paseo de Montejo closes to traffic and fills up with families, cyclists and street food stalls.
The neighborhood has everything within walking distance: pharmacies, supermarkets, ATMs and public transit stops. This is a historic downtown that truly lives, not one preserved behind glass.
Getting Around:
On foot: 90% of what you'll want to see is less than a 15-minute walk away. The neighborhood is completely safe and pleasant to walk through day and night.
DiDi: The app works great in Mérida and is the most convenient way to get around. From the airport to the house runs approximately 120–150 MXN and the ride takes about 25 minutes.
Bicycle: Mérida is one of the most bike-friendly cities in Mexico. There are dedicated bike lanes, the BiciRuta public bike system with stations downtown, and several rental options by the hour or day just a few blocks away.
Bus: The urban network covers the entire city for under 15 MXN. We're happy to point you toward the right routes depending on where you want to go.
Car: The location doesn't call for one, and parking in the historic center can be tricky. If you're traveling by car, there are public parking lots 3–5 blocks away.
Other Things to Note:
In Mérida, you can immerse yourself in a vibrant blend of culture, history, and tradition; from exploring the colorful Historic Center with its museums, plazas, and artisan markets, to savoring the delicious local cuisine like cochinita pibil and panuchos. You can also enjoy cultural events such as the Serenata Yucateca, stroll through its parks and squares, and discover the Mayan heritage at nearby archaeological sites. Whether walking, biking, or riding a horse-drawn carriage through its streets, Mérida offers an authentic experience full of warmth and hospitality that invites you to live each day with magic and flavor.
