Better options in the area

Lobby and pool area is very pretty. Staff were mediocre. Room was clean but without character. Toilet ran constantlyI moved to another hotel in the area during me second week in Merida and for an extra $100 for the week, (Casa Balam) if you can afford it, it’s worth three times as much in room and hotel quality.

Beautiful hotel, sparkling and clean, lovely pool and spacious common areas with comfortable sofas. Staff friendly, efficient and professional. Room and bathroom spotless, comfortable bed. Small breakfasr cafe handy. Amazing value. Well-located, great coffeeshop in next block (Barolo's).

This is a little gem of a hotel. It is clean and comfortable and has the best pillows I’ve ever slept on! The staff were fantastic, they had a little issue with laundry service one day but it was quickly rectified.Shout out to Misael! And the rest of the staff.

Definitely recommend this bargain hotel

For a 1 star hotel, the Santa Maria was excellent. My room was spacious, good hot water and pressure, excellent AC, and immaculately clean. It also had a big screen TV if that is important to guests. There was an issue getting towels the first day, but no biggie. The location couldn't be better with easy access to the bustle of the Santa Lucia neighborhood.

It’s a very nice quiet place that is close to Teheran centre and walkable to the Paso de Montejo and the Gran Plaza. Nice Mexican cuisine and other nearby. Rooms are clean and roomy. Hot water was tepid and given 32C outside, not an issue for us. Pool is small and refreshing. Lobby relaxing and chairs to read by. Liked this place!

Convenient and very quiet!

The people who work here are wonderful and it’s very easy to get a bus from the airport to Santa Lucia Park and walk two blocks to the hotel. It is incredibly quiet and the only thing that I would have wanted is a window that let in more light as the window faced the beautiful courtyard and didn’t have the light that I love but everything else was excellent. The distance to the main Square is six or so easy blocks. They have filtered water in the lobby, which is very helpful. Tacos Reunion is one block away and is also excellent. I would definitely stay here again. I also took a walking tour my first morning in Merida, and it was incredibly helpful!

3rd trip to Merida, different hotel each time. StM layout appears to be fairly typical: foyer with rooms farther back arranged around a courtyard. This makes it just a little noisy at times but not intolerable at all. The room was clean, clean, clean. 2 (14 nights) weeks, not a single bug except a couple of flying things because I had the door open a few times. Also appears to be a standard room layout, older but not worn. The cleaning folks obviously work hard. Was completely pleased, we tipped 30-50p/day when they cleaned ($2-3 US). Front desk was accommodating as needed. Everyone was friendly. I will stay there again. Keep in mind Centro is 400 years old, so cockroaches and bugs are a thing… at the other places maybe! Not here, I didn’t see a single roach, and believe me I was looking -can’t stand ‘em. I would have left on the spot.
