I chose the property due to price and proximity to Legion Park (right across the street). Excellent location for what i needed. parking was full but they let me park in the disabled parking slot since they had no disabled guests at the time. The female receptionist gave me a bit of a hard time due to my late checkin since my flight arrived almost 9pm and it took some time to get to my car rental at the miami airport. the hotel tried to charge my card before my arrival, even though i checked the "pay at property" box on expedia. As it turned out, the receptionists are only there until 11pm. thankfully the male receptionist on duty was kind and flexible enough to wait for me and charged my card on arrival. but this is the first time i choose a pay at property hotel that tried to charge my card before arrival. apparently the lady receptionist also tried to cancel my booking due to the late checkin. i think this is something that needs to get resolved between expeida and properties that agree to do "pay at property" situations. Also, one female cleaning staff also gave me an annoyed look when they tried to come clean one day at about 10am and i wasnt ready for them/ready to vacate, i guess they wanted to stick to their own cleaning schedule. i asked them to come back after an hour. the male staff was accommodating, but i saw the resistance with the female staff. Otherwise, my stay was v comfortable. i loved being right across the park and in a pretty safe area.

Koby at the front desk was super warm and very helpful and he had so many great suggestions for places to eat and hang out. We absolutely loved Uptown 66 which was literally next to the hotel. And the free parking was a plus for us. We always came back to a very clean room with fresh towels. We will most definitely stay here again for sure.

Ok place. Mexican restaurant right down the road had good food and great drinks! Uptown 66, little farther is blue collar. Both are very good. Not much for “breakfast” at the hotel, but everything was clean.

Cute no frills place. The murals are amazing. Disappointing that the bar wasn't open. Easy walking distance to coffee shops and a few restaurants. The Ceviche place is really good. All in all we'd stay again.

We do not use any air fresheners in our rooms. Perhaps the free daily housekeeping was what this guest is referring to. Not sure what "regular channels" mean as our TV offers well over 100 viewing options.

I beg to differ with John Edward. Our location is the opposite of that! We are adjacent to the Miami Design District and Wynwood and only 10-15 minutes to Miami Beach, Brickell and Downtown Miami. Odd comment....never had that one before.

The rooms were super clean and nice. Pillows were great. Easy check in process for after hours check in. Very communicative after the booking process to make the arrangements. Very friendly staff. Bagels, juice and coffee in the morning was very helpful! But if you want more than that several breakfast places nearby within walking distance. Would stay here again.

Stayed here for two nights, was not impressed with the bed comfort, the gaping crack in the ceiling above one of the beds, and the fit and finish of the room. (The outside door didnt have a frame so they just painted the wall white around it) We booked this hotel because of the cool retro vibe shown on google but in person it was quote weathered. Theres not much in the immediate surroundings besides a taco restaurant, a sketchy corner store and a starbucks. Probably wouldn't return but it was one of the cheaper spots around but in hindsight I should have spent more and enjoyed it

We never see reviews like this......we are shocked. Not much in area? Some of best restaurants in Miami are within blocks and a major park with all sorts of amenities (tennis, basketball, playground, etc.) literally right across the street. The New Yorker is a newly renovated and remodeled, historic landmark that is appreciated by all our guests. Come see for yourself!

The rooms in the hotel where we stayed for 9 nights were clean, spacious and renovated. The bathroom was very comfortable and clean. Our room was cleaned every day. Although it was not stated that it was breakfast, it consisted of bagel, cream cheese, jam, butter and bananas. It was also enjoyable to have breakfast in a beautiful garden, having a large open area was an element that saved people from being stuck in a hotel room, there were many alternatives to eat and drink within walking distance. Having free parking and free wifi was also preferred. The lack of a dresser in the rooms where personal belongings can be stored and the lack of a laundry facility in the hotel can be a bit troublesome during long stays. We can definitely stay again. thanks everyone

Property was unique, pool was great, room was clean, staff was welcoming and helpful. I would have appreciated a microwave in room but one was available on property and the fridge did not keep anything cold. Property is right on a main street so traffic noise is a thing but nothing the hotel can do anything about, just a consideration for travelers. Guest noise was very obvious too. I would still recommend. I did enjoy my stay.

Front desk, Jocasta and Koby, were incredibly helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Jocasta in particular shared a lot of great tips for dining and activities based on our interests. Koby also checked into a slightly later check out due to unforeseen circumstances. The cleaning staff was also very accommodating. We loved the extensive garden/zen property in the back, which was quite a surprise and the 2 friendly cats! Thank you everyone! We’ll be back!

I stayed 3 nights in room 214 and wanted to extend my stay to 6 days instead of 5, they told me that someone else is staying in this room, my rez is cancelled because of no show and they didn’t even refund my 2 nights. I made a claim to hotels.com and expect my two days refund as I had to search a room somewhere else.

Lots of noise coming from the traffic on Biscayne Boulevard, other than that I had a very pleasant stay. Some weatherstripping around the main door probably would have helped cut down the noise quite a bit

Thanks for the advise Scott.......under advisement. Yes some of our unit's front doors face the street but our newly renovated units with soundproof/hurricane resistant doors and windows do a great job cushioning the noise.
