"We had a great stay. Room was very clean. Close to plenty of stores and restaurants. Kids loved the indoor pool. Our only complaint was the hot tub was not working. We were looking forward to that. Would definitely stay again! "
"This was the perfect place to stay! The hotels nearby are overpriced and dumpy. I was able to pick up some meals at Hannaford and eat in the fully equipped kitchen. The owner checked in on me as there was an unusual heat wave and she offered to put in the air conditioner. Within walking distance to some restaurants and shops. Will definitely stay here again."
"This is not what some would call a 5 star hotel but if you are going to Baxter State park it is a good place to stay. It is an older facility and the owners live there and they are very nice and them and their staff are helpful and nice! They have a wonderful laundry which is important for us when traveling. Their continental breakfast is adequate. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We lived Baxter State park! Hikers and hunters stay here. We met 2 boys that were hiking the Appalachian trail! So at first we weren't sure, but in the end very glad we stayed here!"
"Our second time staying at this peaceful and rustic cabin and we can’t wait to return. The view is absolutely amazing, listening to the loons, fishing in the lake, paddle boarding and canoeing, and our dogs had an absolute blast playing in the lake (they remembered from last year!) To us the seclusion is everything, a true escape from it all. "
Beachfront Cottage on Ambajejus Lake With Sandy Beach and a Mountain View
10/10 Excellent
"We had the most incredible weather here at the beginning of October and practically had the lake to ourselves. Beautiful sunsets and interesting birds too. This rustic camp was perfect for our Northern Maine getaway."
Knife Edge Escape - Cozy Lakeside Cottage Getaway with Views of Mt. Katahdin
10/10 Excellent
"3 adults (husband, wife, and adult daughter). Excellent communication with host. They even checked in with us when we arrived to see if we needed anything and answered questions we had about the area. Lots of info and recommendations about the area provided in the cabin. The view from the bright windows facing the lake was phenomenal (water and boulders, a mountain, loons, bald eagles) but, even more impressive, was the extreme cleanliness of the cabin!!! The washer and dryer were a great feature. Beds were comfortable. All necessities provided including a crock pot we utilized. We didn't feel we needed to wash any dishware before we used it as has sometimes been necessary to assure cleanliness at other rentals we have stayed at. Loved having use of kayaks provided by host (which we have had to rent at other locations). The host even provided orange safety wear (hats, vests, even one for a dog!) since we were there during hunting season. Quick drive from cabin to Baxter S.P. We were fortunate to see a moose 2 days in a row but each time it was just down the hill from the entrance gate to the park so lots of people were huddling around to see it. We never saw moose anywhere else throughout the park or other locations outside the park but it wasn't for lack of trying! Our favorite "looking for moose hike" in Baxter was Elbow Pond to Grassy Pond. It felt like a magical place throughout the forest and the water views. Only regret was stay was too short!"
