Holiday 24

House and pool were good. However we did have a couple of electrical problems and because lived 500k away it was a bit difficult to get hold of Jean. When we did they were resolved.

Beautifully situated character filled property

The property far exceeded our expectations, the location was sublime, with an abundance of wildlife and trees of many different species surrounding the house. The house itself has been restored in a sensitive manner, having all the necessary comforts of modern living, whilst still retaining the feel of the origins of the property. You can easily imagine life long ago while staying here. Overall 10 out of 10

Wonderful holiday

A beautiful setting in a lovely tastefully renovated property.We could truly relax and forget about the day to day problems of modern life. We loved the peace and quiet, the wildlife, church bells ringing in the distance. It was as we had stepped back in time to a quieter gentle time. At the same time all the comforts of modernity were also provided whilst not detracting from the overall character of the home. 10 out of 10. Thank you to Jean and his family for a memorable holiday.

A slice of paradise

We had the most relaxing stay in this beautiful place in beautiful surroundings. Our dogs were so happy with the garden, the kids enjoyed the house, pool and garden. There is lots to do and see nearby like Carcassonne and Toulouse but also Bram is a nice little town. Jean was very friendly and welcoming and gave us many helpful tips. Thank you for having us, we will be back as soon as possible!

A great stay in a beautiful area

The house is absolutely charming! Moreover it’s spacious and functional. We love the scenery, the amazing terrain. More than enough space to play football! Kind welcome! The bedrooms are ok. Only thing is that the beds in the kids room has very thin mattresses. For older kids, larger beds with thicker mattresses would be convenient.

Glorious peaceful house with excellent facilities

We spent six weeks at L'Horte during May and June. It is set in the most beautiful countryside, away from any noise and in the middle of farmland.The house itself is extremely well equipped, we found we had everything we needed and were able to make ourselves at home. The pool was a perfect place to cool off and relax.There is so much wildlife - almost too much to mention from the birds and butterflies to hares and the geckos.Jean was an extremely helpful host, there to welcome us to the property and on hand with any queries. The bedrooms were very comfortable and outside spaces well equipped - the large canvas awning at the front of the house was most welcome. It is quiet and a most peaceful place, with easy access to Carcasonne and other local towns. A few hours to the coast or Spain. We would thoroughly recommend to couples, groups of friends and families.

Such a beautiful place

We knew very little about the area when we booked but were attracted by the unique character of the property and proximity to Toulouse airport for convenient flights. It was much better than anticipated. The location is remote and yet not very far at all from the autoroute and all the services of Castelnaudary. Set in completely unspoilt countryside, the birdsong all around the property and the amazing range of wildlife - all kinds of butterflies and songbirds, falcons, hare, deer - was a real delight. The property is very well maintained and yet has a great air of history about it with lots of lovely furniture and plentiful kitchen equipment to cater for even large family gatherings. It really has the feel of a much-loved family retreat. The pool has full sunshine all day long but is totally secluded. There are a number of wooden decking terraces so you can choose your location for eating out or relaxing in full sun or shade throughout the day. There are lovely views to the local hill-top village of Mireval-Lauragais and the surrounding hills with the sweet sound of the church bells marking the passing time. The historic wonder of Carcassonne is less than an hour away and the cross-country route takes you through some beautiful countryside with bean fields, sunflowers and vineyards with wine tasing available. There is a lovely bakery/tea room at the next village of Fendeille. Our host, Jean, was very helpful.

Die Lage des Hauses und das Grundstück sind herausragend, wenn man die Ruhe sucht. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet, es ist alles da, was man braucht. Die Betten sind hervorragend.

Geweldig

Prachtig ruim en gezellig huis met een echt enorm perceel grond eromheen. Afgelegen maar toch dichtbij, 10 minuten met de auto, van winkels en restaurant. Prima lokatie voor het bezoeken van Toulouse en Carcassonne. Eigenaar zeer hartelijk en gastvrij.we hebben het geweldig hier gehad.

Maison trés agréable

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Le cadre est idyllique au calme pas de route à coté :) Il y a dans la maison un véritable esprit "maison de famille", elle est trés bien équipée. Nous avons pu faire plusieurs randonnées au départ du logement, Toulouse et Carcasonne à moins de 30 mn en voiture valent vraiment la visite !

Cadre idyllique et tranquille

Très belle maison, très bien aménagée avec un cadre idyllique. Piscine, pétanque et ping-pong sur place et des belles balades à vélo et pédestres dans cette belle région. Merci aux propriétaires pour des interventions rapides en cas de petits soucis.

Zalige en rustige omgeving

Authentiek vakantiehuis met groot terras en meer dan voldoende terrasmeubilair. Het zwembad was voldoende groot en goed onderhouden. Toegang via onverharde weg, ideale locatie voor wie op zoek is naar rust en kalmte, gelegen tussen de zonnebloemvelden. Goede verbinding naar bakker (Fendeille) en supermarkten (Castelnaudary).

Des vacances en pleine nature reposante

Du calme, des collines, une piscine rafraîchissante, de délicieuses figues fraîches tous les matins au petit déj, une très jolie bâtisse sur un immense terrain… La maison est très bien aménagée et le coin jeux regorge de petits trésors! La propriété s’est prêtée à merveille à notre semaine de vacances en famille, merci!

Entspannung pur

Wir haben unseren Urlaub im Ferienhaus sehr genossen. Das gemütlich eingerichtete Haus liegt sehr ruhig in schöner Umgebung und bietet alles für einen entspannten und erholsamen Urlaub. Besonders beeindruckt hat uns das riesige Grundstück mit faszinierendem Baumbestand, das zu Entdeckungen einlädt. Ob Ausflüge mit dem Fahrrad in die Umgebung oder Erkundung der vielen historischen Städte und Burgen, Abstecher in die Pyrenäen oder ans Meer, für all dies ist dieses Domizil ein hervorragender Ausgangspunkt.

Excellent séjour !

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour !. La maison a beaucoup de cachet et a été restaurée avec goût. Elle est idéalement située la campagne et tout près de Castelnaudary. A notre arrivée nous avons été accueillis par Evelyne qui nous a donné beaucoup d'informations sur la maison, les endroits à visiter et les bons restaurants. Un très grand merci à elle !. Enfin, la région est superbe et mérite le détour. Très vivement recommandé !!!.

Séjour en famille très agréable et au calme

Nous avons passé une très belle semaine en famille, dans cette jolie maison de caractère. Coin vraiment très calme, idéal pour se reposer et profiter de la piscine pour se rafraîchir. Les enfants étaient ravis dans ce grand espace vert ainsi que dans la petite salle de jeux. Evelyne est une personne très sympathique et à disposition. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir !
