This is the second time staying here and the service and hotel is great!! Staff goes above and beyond their jobs to help and the hotel is immaculate. Its location is just a short walk from Plaza Mayor yet is in a peaceful quiet neighbourhood. The views are fantastic!! On some mornings like today you can watch the hot air balloons take off and float overhead. I travel a lot and give this hotel my highest praise. One note, the hotel is on different levels so you may need to climb a few stairs (there are handicap lifts if needed though).

We loved our stay. It was clean, simple, beautiful, quiet, and just what we needed. Everyone was so kind and helpful! Yay! We definitely recommend! ❤️

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Riu Plaza España. The location couldn’t have been better—it’s within walking distance of so many of Madrid’s top attractions, restaurants, and shopping, making it the perfect home base for exploring the city. The rooms were modern, clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. The staff was consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast deserves special recognition—it was one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had, with an incredible variety of fresh, high-quality options to start the day. If you’re staying in Madrid, this is the only hotel I’d consider. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

Location is the biggest highlight. Only 200m from the very center Sol but not right next to the plaza. It’s convenient to go places but not noisy at all. One thing to note is: due to traffic rules, taxi or uber can’t go in front of the hotel. But if the hotel calls the car, they can get in. The hotel is a music hall and so is the theme. They even have a vinyl library for you to borrow records and turntable to play in your room. And it opens late. Inside the room it’s simple. No fancy decor, just the basics. But staffs are very helpful. There’s a safe in the room too. We’ve been told not to bring passports with us but keep a copy or photo on phone. They are right. Even the store tax free application accepts photo. We also like the rooftop swimming pool. It’s not big but the deepest is 1.65m. You can’t do laps but a nice dip in the water during summer time feels really good. Too bad the pool only opens till 8pm. We didn’t include breakfast during our stay. There are so many choices in the neighborhood. Oh, did I mention there is a restaurant with a piano bar? We didn’t have a chance to try it so not sure about the food. But it’s definitely not crowded if you’re lazy to go out. The env looks cozy. Overall, we love this hotel and don’t mind to come back again.
