"So, for what hotel is it was great! The staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel is in great need of updating, but was clean enough (room wise). The desk clerk was amazing and let us check in early so we could freshen up for the luau. We had breakfast in the morning and it was so beautiful to watch the waves and dolphins while eating pretty good food. Its not a luxury hotel, but i would stay again for a few days as it was convenient to things to do and clean and a safe place"

"My wife & I spent 9 nights at this property & found a lot to like. The interior was clean & refreshed with new appliances, fixtures, countertops, paint, and furniture. The linens were clean & the beds were comfortable. The wrap-around lanai was well appointed with its only drawback being that it looked out upon the backs of commercial buildings with only a narrow view beyond (as shown in the website photos so it was no surprise, it is just what the view was). Inside the unit, our only troubles were difficulty understanding the controls for the washer, dryer, & dishwasher. Outside the unit, everything was quite clean but the complex’s age showed in many places. The elevator closest to our unit was out of order throughout our stay and the remaining elevators (2) were quite a distance from us. The shade of the underground parking garage was nice, but there were garage renovations during our stay that took away some spaces & restricted the widths of the driving aisles. We felt the non-functioning central elevator & the construction in the parking garage should have been disclosed to us before arrival and perhaps even been enough for a price reduction. We felt the price we paid was pretty much in-line with what we got (2 bedrm; 2 baths; on-site covered parking) & for where it was (heart of Kailua-Kona a stone’s throw from the water), but perhaps a little toward the higher side."

"What a great location in downtown Kailua Kona. We stayed for 2 weeks, and Kona Plaza served as a comfortable and convenient place to branch out. We loved watching the paddlers, swimmers and occasional dolphins as the sun rose. The owner gave clear and thorough instructions, and when a small problem arose with the AC, she immediately got a repairman on site (the filter was only in need of a little clean). All of the furniture was very comfortable, and the kitchen was exceptionally well-stocked. We have stayed in several places in Kona (including Uncle Billy's), and we hope to stay there again."

"Kona Shores was the perfect spot for our getaway. It was IMMACULATE and had everything we needed. I did think our unit was be closer to the shore on the property, but it was on the front of the property on the main road. Still, it was still quiet enough with the wind unit AC running. I will say the bathroom door was not not very private, so this studio unit is best for people traveling together who are not shy and know each other quite well!"
