Oh this was just heavenly! We chose a deluxe sea view room and had the most beautiful view from our balcony. The room was small, but we did not need any more for the two of us. It was clean and smelled lovely. The bathroom was spacious, but the actual shower did not have much for elbow space (not the shower pictured in the website). Each and every employee we encountered was incredibly kind and helpful. We ate lunch at the outdoor dining in front of the tower; breathtaking views, convenient, but the food was not memorable. The included breakfast in the breakfast room was outstanding and full of choices. We spent an entire day down at the beach club (additional charge) perched on the rocks overlooking the crystal blue waters of the cove; there is also quick food and drinks there. Must do.

Magnificent!!! True hidden gem! Reception to restaurant was 5 stat PLUS! Our best stay so far in Italy. Extended our stay. Amanda(reception) and Francesco (restaurant/bar) were both marvelous hosts! Nice parking and perfect location and views. Can’t wait to return!

the location is among the best in Italy overlooking the sea. best view of sunset you can dream about , quiet, safe and very relaxant place. you must visit, prices are high for a 4 star hotel but the price reflects the location. The staff are very friendly and very hard working , tries to make your stay enjoyable, feels like a family when you see the same staff at breakfast lunch and dinner. a must visit

Way too overpriced for what you get
The setting of hotel is stunning - watching the sunset over the sea from the garden is absolutely amazing. Breakfast is good - a lot of options to choose from and the pool area is also nice on a hot day. They don't have umbrellas but you can find shade in the garden. It's relatively quiet and peaceful. The rooms, on the other hand, are really outdated and definitely not what you should be paying this price for. While it should be an upscale resort, everything inside is very old and nothing seems to function properly - we had issues checking in because the tablet at the reception didn't work, the air conditioning didn't work, the printer didn't work, the wi-fi code didn't work, etc. We also had ants in our room and while in general that doesn't really bother us (it's nature after all :)), as a general rule, you should NOT have ants in a hotel with this price. The restaurant at the hotel is ok but the location of the hotel itself makes it very difficult to get to any other place (especially at night when you have absolutely no lights and very steep and narrow roads) and if you are staying for more than a couple of days, dining at the hotel just gets very boring. Also keep in mind that you will not be able to leave or come back to the hotel without a car and parking in Santo Stefano (or anywhere in Monte Argentario) is a nightmare. So if you just plan to stay at the hotel and relax, that's ok, but if you want to explore the area, it's not a good location for that.

We had a wonderful time here! A tranquil stay with beautiful views and if it is a clear day, a brilliant sun set. Take the time to walk down to the beach/cove if you stay. A good way to walk of breakfast.

The Highs: The view was absolutely stunning, the grounds were amazing and the pool was spectacular! We had a phenomenal experience and loved our stay. It was absolutely beautiful! We also loved all of the cats around the property and made a few new feline friends. The staff were also very welcoming and lovely. Things to keep in mind: The rooms are not very sound proof. Stay on a higher floor. We heard everything the people above us were doing. Bring bug spray!!! We got bit up in the late afternoon/night. The road to the hotel is very sketchy. If you are a nervous driver you might want to drive during the day first then see if you will at night. Lastly, the only big downside was both the size of the shower and how quickly it ran out of hot water, but that is a trade off for the view.

Beautiful getaway!
One of the most beautiful locations I have ever been - very remote though, so if you are looking for a nearby town that is walkable, this is not the place for you. That said, the hotel has everything you could possibly want and more. The view is the best on the island and the service is incredible. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Beautiful hotel and area. Staff is friendly. Drive down to the beach unless you are up for a very strenuous walk back up. Avoid the hotel restaurant, there are much better places on the island at half the cost.

Beautiful location. Staff friendly. Food excellent. Only unfortunate downside was that the bed was literally the most uncomfortable thing I've ever experienced. I dont mind firm beds but this bed was like lying on a floor. We were extremely sore each morning when we woke up. Not sure what the story was or who made that decision about using those mattresses. But it was shocking how terrible the bed was. Room 52.

This is a really beautiful hotel, with incredible sweeping views down the mountain into the bay. We couldn't recommend it highly enough. The staff were lovely and the food/breakfast was so good. Our room was a perfect size for just us two and was totally spotless. So pleased we found this gem of a hotel. We didn't want to leave! We've already recommended to friends and family.

This is a beutiful hotel with amazing views, a lovely pool and great service. This was the perfect place to relax at the end of our trip to Italy. The only complaint I have is that the bed in our rooms was beyond firm. It was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in.

Beautiful spot on the cliff. A little hard to find but worth it once you arrive. Staff very friendly & helpful. Rooms are minimal but the views are gorgeous. Very peaceful, & quite. The beach is down the hill very rocky below but they have chairs, pads & umbrellas set up for you with a charge. The pool is amazing & a nice staff to help you with any needs. Food @ the restaurant was delicious & service impeccable. We will be back..

The hotel is really out of the way (which is fine), but they charge for everything - 10euros parking, 28 per person to use their beach, drinks are so expensive (17euros for 2!) hotel itself is nice, but just expect to add €€€€€ onto your stay.

Great location
Great location but we had a pretty average experience of the restaurant (of which you're largely captive) - vast prices, corn in average salad seemingly out of a tin, vegetarian main that should have been a side dish (€20), a 1980s-style breakfast etc. The newly refurbished room smelt caustic (above the kitchens we think) but no problem moving us. Decor a bit tired. That said, the staff were lovely and incredibly friendly, and very helpful and welcoming. Sounds like we're picky but we're not. It's a FABULOUS location, stunning views, lovely pool and deck, great sunset bar. Why shouldn't they trade on that, but it would begin to irk if you'd booked more than a night or two.

Not worth it!
We booked one night expecting a lot of luxury given the price. The hotel was very mediocre, but the neighborhood was very nice. No cell reception in the room which was a big problem as we were expecting some important phone calls. The room was full of mosquitoes and was not very average given the four star rating. The private beach is very nice but you have to pay for everything, including parking and access to the beach.
