"We did a night tour right on the Property which was lots of fun and saved us driving to another location ! Had breakfast included, which was an excellent buffet with lots of food Options . Had dinner two nights all the food was excellent and a reasonable price point for what you received. "

"We had a very comfortable mountain view room. As expected we had a fantastic view over the cloud forest which we could enjoy from the room with a really large window and comfy chairs. The breakfast was full service and excellent with enough items on the menu to have a different selection every day. We had dinner once and it was also very good at a reasonable price. The hotel is away from the centre of Santa Elena, and the Monteverde cloud forest is 10-15' walk away. It does feel isolated, and it adds to the charm of the place. We organised our excursions beforehand, including transportation. It was easy to get a taxi from town for $14 or so. Excellent stay! We thought a small fridge would be useful. "

"We were only there for one night but the room was clean, the air condition worked well and the shower had plenty of hot water. In all, it was a great place to use as our home base as we did various tours in the area. We would stay there again without hesitation. Walking distance to town, restaurants etc.....and the breakfast was good. We definitely got good value here."

"Hotel rooms were very clean, airy, well-decorated, and well-appointed (table and chairs, fridge, lots of hooks and shelving in bathroom). I liked the nice cool concrete floors that didn't get dirty and slippery like the tile floors we found in other hotels. We also loved exploring the trails on the hotel grounds, seeing the wildlife (we saw our first armadillo there), and the breakfast was really delicious. The location was also nice and quiet and isolated, but an easy drive to town. Highly recommend."

"Sende was extraordinary. We loved our quiet cottage in the forest but also being able to access town in a short walk. The restaurant was delicious and the staff was pleasant. We were excited to experience Monteverde but hadn’t done much planning before arriving. The staff helped us coordinate tours and all their recommendations were great. "

"Great, friendly staff. Beautiful grounds, including their own nature trail. Great view of surrounding mountains and calories from an expansive balcony that is used for the breakfast area as well as for lounging. It overlooks a small garden where you are guaranteed to see lots of hummingbirds. The furnishings are a bit old but everything is clean and tidy. Our room had its own private balcony. "
