"On hilltop in beautiful mountain situation. Hotel had very convenient free parking close to front door. Lots of interesting local shops and restaurants, but not cheap. In spring lots of wild orchids near roads a few km west of town. Very pretty mountain drives but roads are fairly narrow and there are plenty of hairpin bends. Also most Italian drivers think they should be driving Ferraris not Fiats, and also believe their rubbish should be deposited along the highways rather than on garbage...
