Staying in the mostly remote area on Brevort Lake was exactly what we needed to unwind from the hustle and bustle of life.
The lake is very nice and we enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boat daily. The water is very shallow and safe for all ages. The view of the lake, the ducks, the sounds are all the highlight of renting this house! Staying a week here made us consider purchasing our own place on Brevort Lake.
The house is fine and met all our needs. The main areas are clearly cleaned but the whole house could use a deep clean from cobwebs, dirt and a fresh coat of paint to cover old stains. The bathrooms are the most outdated and while technically clean, it's hard to get past the perception. For us, the house was a place to sleep and eat between the many adventures we took in the UP. We had bonfires every night in the gorgeous yard.
Reviews are subjective so keep that in mind - for me, if I was looking for a place where I'd be spending most of my day in to relax and take in the scenery, I'd prefer somewhere more updated mainly because I don't get to go on vacation often.
All in all, the location is as ideal as it gets to explore eastern UP, the lakefront is perfect for adventures with smaller children and relaxing morning kayaks, and we just fell in love with the area!
