"We loved staying at Sudima. It’s only 3 years old and is situated across the road from the stoney beach. The decor is lovely. We stayed with our grand daughters and they loved the pool which was heated. Because it was school holidays they had a children’s activity centre and a movie every night with popcorn. Discounted meals as well. Our grand daughters didn’t want to go home. They loved it so much. We’ll be back. "
"Room wasn't cleaned properly while we stayed, no laundry service as advertised, multiple things out of order sauna lifts ,room was large and comfortable "
"This cottage tiny home is my favourite bookabach stay to date. The quaint, rustic cottage is set on a beautiful section and the hosts really go the extra mile to make your stay feel special. You will leave here with a calm nervous system, and a yearning for a slower life."
"This property is in an ideal location. It is quiet, clean, with safe onsite parking, and you have the cafes, bars, restaurants, pools and shops all within walking distance. Sharon, the Manager, and her staff, are extremely helpful, nothing is a problem. I would recommend The St James to anyone for its tasteful decor, well appointed kitchens, and overall comfort."
"Very clean and quiet, helpful hard working staff .easy walking distance to the CBD and pools. However the shower water was not as hot as one would expect.. otherwise a very good accommodation and will use again."
Country Cottage Delight in the Hurunui.
(Spotswood/Cheviot)
10/10 Excellent
"We had a delightful stay at the Country Cottage in Spotswood over Easter weekend. The cottage was charming and thoughtfully decorated, with lots of little touches that made us feel welcome—like a lovely jar of preserves and fresh fruit and even Easter Eggs waiting for us. The kitchen was well stocked with coffee and tea, and there were plenty of linens and towels.Lesley also went out of her way to make our two greyhounds feel completely at home. She set out a big bucket of water, left a towel for their paws, and even provided tennis balls for them to play with. Those thoughtful gestures really made the stay feel special for all of us.We especially enjoyed sitting on the lanai, looking out at the curious cows next door—such a peaceful, rural setting. There’s a charming boutique right next door, and Lesley was incredibly responsive throughout our stay. Even though the cottage is near a railway line, the occasional train added a bit of character rather than being a disturbance. We highly recommend this spot for a relaxing weekend getaway."
