"This cabin was the perfect getaway for my wife and I to celebrate our anniversary. This was our second time staying on this property and we absolutely will be back. We love it central location to Grayson Highlands, and all the other great hikes around the area. The house was clean. Hot tub was great after the long days of hiking. We will definitely be staying again. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat in the middle of nowhere but still close enough to civilization to enjoy good restaurants and again great location for hiking in Southwest Virginia. We’ve done the channels hungry mothers State Park and most recently the sand cave, this place is for you."

"We stayed here 3 nights to do some hiking around Grayson Highlands. The location of the cabin is absolutely perfect with beautiful views right from the front door. My son really loved the arcade, which was a really fun perk to our stay here. The cabin had everything we were looking for and then some. This was one of our favorite trips we've taken and the cabin played a big part in that. If/when we come back to this area, we will be staying here again."

"This was such a fantastic stay! We came down from Washington DC suburbs for a long weekend visiting Grayson Highlands State Park. The cabin is an easy 15 minute drive from the park, which gave us such great flexibility because we could wake up early, go to the park and hike for a few hours, come back “home” and reset, and then go back out again for more hiking.The hosts thought of every detail, great and small. I lost track of how many times I thought to myself “Gosh, it would be really great if the cabin had…” and sure enough, there it was. Just little things like dish soap or laundry detergent or a candle lighter to start a fire in the fire pit.We loved the location next to the creek - such a far cry from big city suburban life! Could just sit on the porch or sit by the fire pit and unwind. We loved our stay and can’t wait to go back!! "

"This property was better than we expected! The grounds are so well cared for and the cabin is cozy, rustic, and very well stocked! Our kids greatly enjoyed playing on the play set, exploring the forest, and roasting s’mores on the fire pit. The views are incredible! We are so thankful for the opportunity to stay at Big Ridge Retreat and plan to come back next year. "

"Beautiful property, very relaxing ad well equipped with most everything we needed for appliances and cookware. There was plenty of space as well as sleeping options. We loved the wild life in the area being tight at the back door."

"Host is exceptionally nice and very good with communication! He was open to any suggestions we had to offer, even though we really didn't have any suggestions. He also was very responsive with any questions before our stay. This property offered exactly what we were looking for, relaxation! We caught brim and bass on our stay! We had fun staying in and cooking, relaxing in the hot tub and jetted inside tubs, and spending time with family. We loved the fruit trees, especially the pear tree. The location is out in the country, and we like it that way. Lots of parking space and many rooms to choose from in the house. A great place to bring fourwheelers as well since it is country back roads. (Chrck VA laws and regulations). Not far from Doe Mountain (about 1 hour) as well.We also played pool and just rested and took in some views. We got to see some deer but unfortunately never did get to see the bear that likes to swim in the pond. Very beautiful place to kick back and relax. The house is beautiful. Could not have asked for a better host, the home is newer to Vrbo but don't let that throw you off, we couldn't have asked for better. My teenage sister forgot her makeup bag and the host was nice enough to ship it to my mom. (THANK YOU)! We had ages from 5-70 with us and everyone throughly enjoyed the trip! Very clean as well. This is definitely a property we will visit again and we definitely recommend!! "

"The view of the mountains was beautiful! We really enjoyed staying in this cabin and being so close to Grayson Highlands State Park. Ashley was great as a host. We were surprised that the bottom floor was a completely different entrance from the main floor, but luckily my kids are old enough that it was fine. The details of the cabin were really nice. Overall a wonderful experience!"
