The staff is very nice (as any Japanese in the service industry), but the front desk staffs' English is so limited that restricts them from giving guests all the information they need to know, like the restaurants' working hours/days or that you have to pay to use the pool and even the onsen (hot springs) which we only found out when checking out by googling its meaning.
The hotel restaurants operating hours are extremely limited, the tea lounge should let guest bring their food outside (at least pizza.)
And you should have either a staff member fluent in English or information leaflets translated into English.
