"The hotel itself looks much better than it does in the pictures. All public spaces looked amazing. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, had a great selection of food. My room was spacious and clean. I had a place to put everything and keep my things organised. The mattress was a bit firm for my liking, but I still slept comfortably. Overall, I had a great stay. I wish the hotel had a gym, it was the only thing missing for me. Thank you Miguel (from the bar) for your service, and great recommendations! "

"My husband and I were touring around Portugal for 9 days so we had many hotel bookings. When we got to Coimbra I kept in mind some of the less than desirable reviews on this hotel. Well being from the NY/NJ area we are use to being inconvenienced. There was nothing inconvenient about this hotel. You can pull up in front, unload and there is a gratis parking garage right across the street. The hotel has been renovated and we upgraded our room to a room with a balcony for 35 euro. The rooms are clean, the balcony and rooftop views were great. It's an older city so buildings are older in appearance. This hotel is a fine place to stay when traveling through. The breakfast was also very nice."

"We had a delightful stay, enjoying the view of the city from our window. And each morning, we got a basket of our breakfast to start our day. "

"Staff so friendly and welcoming. Clean rooms, beautiful design of bar/lobby/restaurant as well as rooms. Breakfast buffet had many choices and was delicious food. The hotel is located immediately below the historic university buildings. Our room had a spacious balcony on a quiet courtyard (autumn). The rooftop patio offers beautiful views of the city. Staff provided a free drink upon arrival, a free glass of wine at 6pm, and brought chocolate and a bedtime story to the room in the evening. This is our favorite hotel in Portugal, improved only if they would provide a kettle or coffeemaker in the room."

"Good option for Coimbra, value for money, awkward room without windows and only skylights, but overall spacious and just fine. Breakfast was basic but in way…just fine as well. I would come back! "
