What a sweet gem of a motel this is! We only spent one night because we were moving on to another destination. If we make it back to Port Alberni we will stay here again. 5 STARS Plus more! People friendly, pet friendly, immaculate accommodations, gorgeous roses and the list goes on.

The room was clean as it had been renovated. It's a typical motel-style property, so noise from outside - like parking and people talking - carries easily. The portable A/C connection was missing a bug screen, and the pipe fixture was broken, which allowed bugs to get inside. There wee two beds, but one was not used because I found hair on it. Since there aren't many hotels in town, the price is generally on the higher side in summer time.

Nice, clean hotel, easy parking and great staff. It’s an older hotel but the bed was comfortable and the shower was good. Bathroom counter very small. Tough for all our toiletries. No fan in the bathroom so had to leave the door open to clear the mirror. No other mirror in the room so no other spot to do makeup, contacts etc. We could hear traffic but it wasn’t terrible. On the other hand the location was very handy.

Best place in Alberni to stay

The Riverside motel is by far my favorite place to stay. Rooms are very cozy, feels like home, beds are comfortable, staff is always friendly and helpful.

The room with 2 double beds had 2 separate rooms for each bed which was unexpected but good for us. Did not use cooking facilities but they looked good. Comfortable beds. Parking outside door. Walked to Port Alberni Brewing Company for supper.
