"Place is great!! It's very classy with a vintage flare references to the 20's. All the things you wish were new feel new, clean and very well maintained. The architecture and interior design are inviting, warm and secure. You can tell a lot of care & time was taken with this charming house - selecting high quality finishes and decor that you'll probably want in your own place. The location is nice and quiet, tucked away in a nice neighborhood... walked to the square for great food and coffee."~Justin
Within a short walk to MTSU, farmers market May to November, dining, shopping, live music, bar, dancing, nature center, pool, tennis, basketball & pickle ball courts.
You will enter the home through the front patio. As you enter, there is spacious galley kitchen to the left fully stocked with everything you need for breakfast in, Keurig coffee maker with pods, cream and sugar, waffle maker (pancake mix and syrup), toaster and blender. Joining the kitchen to the right is a well lit dining area with a time period table and 6 well padded dining chairs.
"Carter's Speakeasy did not disappoint...they go above and beyond to create a beautiful, unique experience. Their attention to detail and the high quality furnishings always make me feel pampered."~Susan
You will then come to a spacious parlor with game/poker table for 6 complete with poker set, board games and puzzles, antique drink bar from the Peabody Hotel in Memphis (yes the one with the marching ducks), fireplace, couch and barrel chairs with ottomans. Enjoy a view of the park like courtyard from the parlor as you play games, lounge on the leather chesterfield sofa or velvet barrel chairs with ottomans or simply enjoy a drink from the bar (alcohol not included). Delight in some photo ops as you and your guests adorn the period style hats and headbands on display.
~Behind the kitchen you will find the Roaring 20's bedroom featuring a queen bed w/ dresser to make you feel right at home. Each bedroom includes fresh linens, lush velvet quilts and decorative pillows, smart tv, a closet with luggage rack and hangers. ~The Hollywood glam room located behind the parlor offers queen bunkbeds with velvet chaise lounge for a quiet retreat. This property is spacious, wonderfully decorated, and within walking distance to just about anything you may need. The host provides clear instructions for check-in/out procedures. I hope to enjoy another stay in the future!
Thanks for your hospitality. We enjoyed our stay. It's a great location for those looking to walk to anything on the town square. Very clean and updated.
This is a fantastic property. Close to town (walking distance) and very comfortable. Super clean with everything needed for the stay. Owners were very helpful and even gave us a bit of a history lesson about the property. I would for sure stay again.
The property was super clean and ready and waiting with all the amenities. The property was easy to access, located to downtown historic Murfreesboro and even nicer than the photos shown.
The host was friendly, communicative and helpful.
Would definitely recommend this property!
This is the absolute perfect place to stay in Murfreesboro! The theme is incredible, the beds are cozy, the hot tub is wonderful - it’s a must stay! And it’s in GATED private residence. I want to live here. Nothing better out there. And the just went WAY out of the way for us. We will be back!
The house was beautiful and nicely decorated to fit the theme. The kitchen had all of the necessary appliances to make the stay easy and convenient. The beds were comfortable and we all had restful sleep. The living room sofa and chairs were not very comfortable and made watching a movie somewhat unpleasant. Other than that the property was amazing.
This little cottage was perfect for our family. We where there visiting our son who lives in Smyrna, very convininuant to shopping and sight seeing. Denise was very helpful and a pleasant host. Lots of comunication. Deffiantly would stay again.Loved the convin
Truly, a home away from home. Plenty of space for our family to spread out and relax in between soccer games. Plus, an easy drive to Nashville. The Carter’s made us feel welcomed offering local recommendations and the Speak Easy had every thing we needed for our stay. We will be back!
Great stay, cute property walking distance to downtown stores and restaurants. Denise communicated information well about the property, was a little apprehensive about the gate to get into the parking but after doing it once it was simple :-)
If you are sensitive to noise at night you may want to bring ear plugs or use a white noise maker. Could hear some traffic from the main bedroom at night but nothing bad.
Highly recommend
I loved this adorable guest house and would definitely stay again. It was spotlessly clean, had a comfortable bed and I could walk to the square in the old town of Murfreesboro. At the recommendation of the host, I had a burger at Jack’s and it was fabulous. The cozy den is such a lovely room with a large window over looking the beautiful garden of the large Victorian home next door. Everything in the house was of the highest quality. Whomever decorated this place and stocked it with what is needed kitchen, bed and bath wise has excellent taste.
Beautifully renovated with stunning details and an eclectic mix of decor. My children were so excited to stay here, and the place did not disappoint! We enjoyed playing cards at the poker table...
The only thing this we wished could have been different were that the ladder for the bunk bed was not the easiest to get up and the Glade plugins were unnecessary because the place had no odors to cover. Glade plug-ins create an unpleasant odor in my opinion, but I am chemically sensitive...
We had the best time, we had six of us. We all had plenty of room, the bathroom worked well because of the double door. Overall all areas of the house were clean, updated & really inviting. We felt the 1920’s vibe in every space, while still having the modern touch. If you’re looking for a sweet place outside of Nashville’s but still close enough for a drive in. We absolutely loved it and plan to be back again :)
Also! Denise was so kind to us! Super host for sure. We all give five starts all around!!
We found the property to be exactly as presented in the listing. It was spotless! We enjoyed the security of the gated parking and the location only a few blocks from the downtown square. We walked to the square and found several restaurants that had delicious food! I definitely recommend if you ever stay in the area. They don't allow eating and colored drinks outside the kitchen/dining area but that wasn't a problem for us as we ate out at mealtime. The home was an older one with a few squeaky floor boards that added charm to this immaculate home. And we had a '20s photo shoot with the four of us in keeping with the theme of the home. That was a riot! The kitchen was fully furnished with cookware, dishes, silverware and small appliances. They even stocked some spices in the cute little spice drawer. Wonderful time at a great property.

10 Stars!!!
If I could give this property 10 stars, I would!
Absolutley lovely "Speakeasy" themed decor. No detail left untouched, with excquisite quality everywhere.
We enjoyed a lovely evening playing poker with family the night before a wedding. It was the most lovely place to decompress, rest and be together with loved ones. The setting is serene and the venue is magnificent.
We met the owner, and he was most helpful. He took notes of our check in problems, and said they would work to correct it.
Any lower ratings are due to challenges with the check in process with VRBO and missing information that made it difficult for us to access the location. We could not contact the host directly, and VRBO was not able to assist.
Other than that, I highly recommend this location.
