"There was no elevator. We had to help my elderly mother up two flights of stairs to her room. Also, the property allowed smoking. The room and hotel smelled like cigarette smoke. Terrible. "

"Charming boutique hotel—cozy, stylish, and well kept. The staff are genuinely courteous and attentive, offering helpful tips and warm service throughout. Food is excellent (breakfast is a standout), making the on-site dining worth staying in for. Convenient location too: about 15 minutes from the center of Monemvasia, so you’re close to the action but in a quieter spot. Overall, great value for a relaxed, quality stay."

"The experience of staying within walls is something else. Monemvasia has managed to capture and maintain the feel of an ancient fortification while giving one the comforts of modern civilization (indoor plumbing!) The Likinia Hotel is well located, about a 5 minute walk away from the main street and sufficiently separated. At times you even have the feeling that you have the whole fortress to yourself. Since the family room was the last available option, we had an entire apartment with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms to ourselves. The rooms were very clean and spacious, especially for just two individuals. We recommend booking well in advance or checking with the hotel directly so that you can get an appropriately sized room and allow more people to experience the place :) The staff were kind and even helped with our bag up the final winding route to the room. The breakfast was a smaller spread but comprised of very high quality food in our opinion. The complimentary bottle of wine for the stay (a regional variety) was also a nice touch. The view from the room was also quite nice and we could look out onto the sea over the tops of other buildings. It was a really nice experience. We would recommend the hotel for it's location and will consider going back if we visit Monemvasia again."

"A hotel worth much more than two stars I would rate it at least three if not four stars The staff is lovely, Shontei, Hargiro, Nina, (I hope I wrote the names correctly) take care of you as a guest so that you will simply have a good time. The rooms are very clean and spacious, the hotel staff is quick to fix any problem. The view from the quiet private balcony is stunning in its beauty, the proximity to the most beautiful beach in the area, a 2-minute walk away, is worth it all. Coffee is free throughout the day and night, and even a basket of fresh fruit is available for her, if you are craving sweet fruit. The breakfast buffet is rich and luxurious. It's worth it to celebrate my birthday at Iris beach hotel. All was good."
