We chose this hotel because we were looking for a quiet spot, and the location on a side street seemed promising. We were happy to find that to be true, and the room itself was great. Nice bathroom, tall ceiling and comfy bed. The set up is kind of odd, with the all the amenities and desk around the corner on camp street, but wasn’t much of an inconvenience. We would stay there again.

I was a bit concerned after reading reviews! Property is quiet, clean and amazing!!! Would definitely come back!!!!! Water pressure is low but you can still shower!!!! We enjoyed it so much!!!

The room was huge and nice! Not a fan of the shower at all!! The thing I didn’t liked was communication on where to go to check in as we didn’t get there till late and there was no attendant in the front desk so we couldn’t get it at all until another person staying there came along and told us where to go which happened to be at a different hotel front desk which was maybe half a block away. Other that location was great maybe little over a mile from the French Quarter.

Loved the egg shell bathtub. Favorite part of stay. Central location for walking. From outside looked sketchy and had to check in at hotel around the block. The staff there was excellent and very hospitable, but the occasional staff at the Loft was unfriendly and didn’t even greet you when entering. Definitely a contemporary room and felt cold with cement floors. Yet that tub was amazing. First night very loud party upstairs in penthouse about 1am.

Staff was very friendly. It’s in a convenient area so you can walk every where,but the shower did not have enough pressure, the room had a weird smell and it didn’t look like the pictures. It was like staying in an abandoned building. The lights in the bathroom are very dim.

Really challenging to find. Description should tell you which hotel to go to for checkin and parking. It’s not the hotel right next to the units but down a block and across a busy street. And there is no where to park to load and unload luggage before you have your car parked. Got a parking ticket in 5 mins trying to get our luggage to the car. Tub and shower were cool but bad water pressure. Bed was comfortable. But just not as cool a property as it looked online.

Our room did not have a functioning iron and coffee maker. The window shade was broken and not replaced, just left on the slide with a thin curtain covering the window. The TV was placed by the side of the bed, a very awkward location. We did not have a microwave, only plus - the staff at the International House were courteous and able to heat our food up. The best part of this hotel, it was in close proximity to tourist locations.

Good hotel for price. Hotel was about 5 minute walk to French quarter. It was overall clean besides a couple areas but nothing crazy. Staff was very friendly and willing to help. International hotel staff were very friendly as well. He gave me a taxi and let me leave my bags there before I left for my flight. Room was nice but a couple issues. Toilet would constantly flush water, the shower had two shower heads that were angled which was weird, and it felt very moist in the room plus hotel. Other than that it was good. The area around the hotel was under construction so I had to walk through an alley but it was safe and not bad at all. A little confusing where to check in at. The hotel was really nice for the price besides a few mishaps. I would book again!

Style over substance?

The style of the room was fantastic and just as shown. So modern and looked great. The shower was pathetic, a tiny trickle at a weird angle and difficult to wash my hair. I am glad I'd read other reviews beforehand about checking. The info provided from the property did not match the experience when I arrived. I arrived late and needed to go to the hotel round the corner to check in and then walk to the property with my luggage. The reception desk in the property was rarely manned in the daytime. There were also problems with TV tuning in the room. I reported it and they did fix it but then on the last night there was another issue, possibly caused by the cleaning of the room and something being disconnected. Overall, comfy and good quality but disappointing for the price I paid.

The maid took my bathrobe after the first day and never gave me a new one. Because of the air conditioning you really need one. The sink was clogged the entire time I was there - maid would have noticed that, and the lighting was poor. Maid also didn’t replace tissues or toilet paper when out, but I’m a big boy so I did it. Bed was comfortable as were pillows. Location was excellent. Windows allow noise from street, but not the bed of the world. Did sleep well there. Oh - the shower heads are lame.

If you are picky and expect good hospitality, this is NOT the hotel for you. They treat this hotel like an after thought. The sister hotel is a block away. That is where all the amenities are located. There is construction going on right outside. The toilet is annoying. It runs for 30 minutes after you flush it. The shower is awkward. The shower head sprays out awkwardly and you can't adjust it. You basically have to fend for yourself. The luggage cart we had to roll down the block to the sister hotel and then take it back. Tub is nice but not large. Again, not too bad but not for me. I like people willing and available at all times.

All you need to know about Loft 523!!

Great location near Canal Street, really nice room and building with a minimalist feel, and awesome price. We loved it! However, to forewarn those looking for quiet, restful sleep... this is not it!! Loved the cement floors and big windows, but we stayed on a Sat night and it was LOUD! Party bus came down the little one way street around 2am and it was like we were partying with them! The music from outside was echoing in the cement room!! We did not mind it, but those reading this review may want to know that! Also, you have to check in a block down the street at International House, the building itself is literally just rooms right now, no personnel in the building; we were not aware of all this when booking. Not an issue for us, but would have liked to of known all the details in advance. We will def being staying again, we still loved it!
