Breakwater...Oceanfront Executive Home w/hot tub overlooking Bay of Fundy
10/10 Excellent
"Our stay was perfect! The house was very clean upon arrival and communication before, during and after from the host was polite, warm and gracious. The views were spectacular and the hot tub was also very clean and perfectly hot and ready for our relaxing. The rock beach at the bottom of the yard provided an excellent hunt for sea glass after the tide rolled out. We even had the pleasure of seeing rainbows on two of our evenings! The property was very peaceful and we throughly enjoyed our stay!"
Algonquin Resort St Andrews by-the-Sea Autograph Collection
4/10 Poor
"Due to very unfortunate timing and no notification received from Expedia before we arrived, we got to the hotel and were told the pool, hot tub, and slide were closing for repairs. If I had known in advance, I wouldn’t have driven all the way there to experience this amazing place. There was a lot of confusion about when everything was closed, so we got kicked out of the hot tub/pool 15 minutes after we got in, and it never opened again. My birthday was on a Monday and I wanted to go to the spa (closed on monday), gym (there was no power) or wander through the town but all stores and restaurants were also closed for the Monday. The staff at the resort were very kind and hospitable and made sure I had a nice birthday dinner. I think some communication from Expedia would have allowed me to alter plans and go somewhere closer that was open. Even a week before I was on the resort’s website and there was nothing to say they were renovating all amenities. Disappointing."
The Boathouse overlooking Green's Point Lighthouse and Passamaquoddy Bay
10/10 Excellent
"We had a wonderful week at the Boathouse Cottage. The location could not have been better. You are a 2 minute walk away from a secluded cove on the Bay of Funny (Kelly's Cove) with so much to explore at low tide. The tide pools had lots of treasures- crabs, shells, jellyfish, and unbeatable sunsets. Just 10 minutes away is the small town of St. George with a grocery store and other amenities. Easy day trips include St. Andrews by the Sea (40 minutes) and the white sand beaches of peace river beach (30 minutes) We also really enjoyed exploring Deer Island - the free 20 minute ferry is only 5 minutes from the cottage. The cottage itself was the perfect size for our family of 4. Rustic but appointed; it had the charm of a small restored boathouse but all the comforts and necessities we needed. The owner, Maureen, lives next door and is always available to answer any questions. She is a long time resident to the Bay of Fundy and provided us with local recommendations on beaches to explore and dining that were fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Boathouse and hope to return to again. "
