There are no accommodations more convenient than the Essex Street Inn if you’re looking for quick, easy access to all Newburyport has to offer! On top of that, the Inn is impeccably clean, our room was very comfortable and quiet, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We highly recommend!!

Nice large clean room in an excellent location in town. There was outside hotel maintenance going on around the hotel into the early evening. Breakfasts were mediocre with long wait for coffee and a toaster that took 3 long waits to toast a bagel. Noisy ice making machine in the breakfast room.

The room was very nice and roomy but did have a bit of a musty smell upon arrival. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the fact that they offered breakfast was a nice touch. The biggest drawback really was the stairs. They are quite steep and difficult to maneuver with luggage. I saw another guest fall trying to navigate his luggage. I never would have gotten my big suitcase up the stairs by myself. I do have to say that the person at the front desk offered assistance if needed, however. The location was excellent, within walking distance to town. I got parking, but it is first come, so I was concerned whether a spot would be available later in the evening. If you plan for these things, it is a great spot.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was clean, however the AC was very noisy. There was ample parking and so convenient to the shops. We never used our car once we parked at the Inn. I would recommend the Essex Inn for a pleasant stay in Newburyport.
