just what we were expecting and more convenient to facilities and main road than expected.

Nice place though showing it's age. Everything was provided and things were in good working order. Would stay there again - in fact had looked to see if we could rent for month of july/2022 - unfortunately it shows as not available

Back again in the Blue mountains!

We come back to the BLC (and TLC) every year in the late spring to visit with the family. It's just a great time to go before the hustle and bustle of the summer season and the weather is that perfect combination of cool at night and nice during the day. The owners listen to suggestions and keep updating the house accordingly to make it an easy stay for my family. We can't wait to come back next year!

Wonderful place to stay.

This was a wonderful place to stay. It was perfect for my 4 year old grandsons. They had something to do all the time. They loved the beach at the lake. We were there on the 4th of July and saw probably the best fireworks show ever. Adults and kids all had a great time. There is definitely something for everyone. The house was clean and there was plenty of space with an updated kitchen. Lots of great memories were made on this vacation.

Annual Mountains Trip

The home was, as Goldilocks would say, just the right size. The bed I slept in was very comfortable as well as the atmosphere. We felt secure in our surroundings and walked over to the recreation area and viewed the Lake and walked the trails there. We were very pleased and we give this a 5 star due to the affordable price and area it was in. Not Secluded, but not busy! Just the way I like it! Thanks Chuck for a great home away from home!

Great experience!

Our only suggestion is better mattress upstairs, clean downstairs bathroom vent, and repair towel bar upstairs. Regardless, this was a great rental!

Unforgetable!

This property is clean, comfortable and well appointed. The property was just as described, and the photos do the property justice. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Chalet. The location was perfect for our plans, very close to Grandfather Mountain, the Lin Cove Viaduct, the Linville Falls and other scenic spots along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The fall foliage throughout the area was absolutely breathtaking! We were thrilled with the location and the facilities within the chalet. Thank you for opening your home, we really enjoyed our stay. We would certainly recommend this property.

Perfect space for our family!

Even though the property is older, we were quite pleased with how comfortable, cozy, and perfect the space was for our family’s long weekend exploring the mountains and skiing. Our host was very considerate in shoveling the drive way before our arrival as they had received a lot of snow about a week before. Whether going for dinner, to Sugar or Beech Mountain to ski, sightseeing at Grandfather Mtn, or racing downhill on the new Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster…. our family had a great time! We felt the chalet was centrally located and convenient.

So much fun!

The cabin was cute and in a great location; a cashier drive to everything. Chuck was very nice! The neighborhood was beautiful and well maintained. The other homes were a little too close for our comfort and there was no yard for the kids or dog to play in. The house was well stocked with everything we needed and decorated nicely. It was clean but there was a lot of stains on the carpet. Overall it was a wonderful stay.

A Fall Getaway Well Worth It Before the Holidays Come

The Birch Lane site was exactly what we were looking for with a family of four. Land Harbor was decorated for Fall; my children enjoyed looking for the decorated pumpkins in the neighborhood. We stayed a week and had a great mix of family time, good food in the area, and sightseeing. Our young children loved Grandfather Mountain and becoming Junior Park Rangers. We also explored the Linville Caverns, local cheese shop, and went mining for gems. My husband fished two days at the Land Harbor lake and I worked out at the local YMCA. It was a great getaway from our typical, hectic pace this time of year and the rental site had everything we needed: lots of kitchen supplies, games, and Wi-Fi.

Older Home in need of Renovation

The property felt a little neglected. The place was very clean, but the house itself could use some repairs. Maybe the owners don't have the funds to keep up the place. You could see water damage on the ceiling, etc.

Toddler friendly stay

We had a great time! I'd highly recommend this property to anyone with kids. It really is a 5 minute walk to the pool, beach, and playground! The kids loved the front porch swing too. One safety note - one of the upstairs bedroom doors didn't latch, but we just moved a chair in front to prevent our toddler from toddling down the stairs in the middle of the night. Very comfortable beds, WiFi was a little spotty but totally expected in the mountains. We were super pleased with the smart tv! Loved everything to do in the area and we will definitely be back to the "vacation house"! (As our toddler called it!)

A Week In The Beautiful Mountains of NC

I recently took my first trip to the Blue ridge Mountains area with my girlfriend and stayed @ the Birch Lane Chalet. The area is very beautiful and relaxing {even though there is plenty to do if your so desire}. The house had everything we were looking for and we loved the three different porches. In our case it was also nice that Linville was close enough to Asheville to enjoy a little bit of city setting for a day, to go along with the mountain's fresh air. The private development of Land Harbor was great and the people we encountered were very friendly. There were so many different attractions to keep us very busy; Linville Falls, Linville Caverns & Grandfather Mountain mile high swinging bridge were highlights. We plan on staying here again next time in the region.

Stay was ok

Overall stay was ok. The house was musty smelling when we arrived and we had to air out. Dated, but fairly clean. Tv’s in bedrooms didn’t work. Biggest issue was WiFi was cut off the last night which we needed to finish work related stuff . Still haven’t been answered as to why.

Perfect mini-vacation

The BLC has everything you need away from home. Not only does it have a very up-to-date kitchen fully equipped for cooking but also very comfortable furniture with a big screen TV making it very easy to relax. The view from the decks of the BLC is awesome! As usual we forgot to bring a few items and were pleased at the convenience of a few groceries stores. We had a great time hiking the trails and seeing sights along Blue Ridge Parkway. We had been told the YMCA was very close (5 minutes away)and were pleasantly surprised to see a large well equipped fitness center and indoor swimming pool--with a gigantic playground outside.(Non-members are welcomed for a small fee). We did have some rain during our visit, so we took a ride to Johnson City(about 45 minutes) where there were tons of restaurants and a multitude of stores at which to shop. We had so much fun we are making plans to bring the grandchildren when the Land Harbor rec center, swimming pool, golf and tennis are available.
