"Got there with 3 hot and tired children (long car journey) and my 70 year old mum only to find theyd cancelled our booking. I received no communication of this. My booking and payment had been confirmed. I even received an email the next morning to see how our stay was going and another asking us to rate our stay. We booked through hotels.com and still trying to get to the bottom of what happened. We ended up in a quadruple room in the Travel lodge (at our own expense) this was not the family...

"Unfortunately, the property did not meet reasonable cleanliness or maintenance standards. On arrival, the oven and hob were visibly dirty with grease and residue, and the kitchen overall did not appear to have been properly cleaned. There was no bin provided anywhere in the property, only loose bin bags left for guests to manage waste themselves. The bathroom showed visible mould around the shower area. "Pleasant stay, good sized rooms. Perfect location as in easy walk to town and river. Overlooking abbey. A little noisy if sleeping in front bedrooms"

"Great central location with parking. Great 3 night visit. Check in instructions only sent to us on the day after we started our journey, rather 24hour in advance. A little radio in the kitchen would be a nice addition."
