There is a stream in the garden, 100 yards away.. Bel-Mar is a lovely holiday cottage set on a working farm close to the Isle of Whithorn and has the most fabulous views out across Wigtown Bay. Bel-Mar is spacious and comfortable with stunning views from almost every room so whether you are just relaxing in the living room or enjoying a family meal in the dining room you can make the most of the view. The conservatory is a lovely sunny spot to while away a few hours reading or just enjoying the heat of the afternoon sun.
Bel-Mar is a lovely peaceful location yet close enough to explore the magic of this delightful area. There is a wealth of things to do while you are here and is ideally placed to explore everything this delightful corner of south west Scotland known as The Machars has to offer. The Isle of Whithorn, only 3 miles away, is an attractive little harbour village on the Machars Peninsula where you can enjoy a meal in the village pub and restaurant. Visit Wigtown, which has officially been designated as Scotland’s National Book Town with a wide range of book related businesses, a book lovers haven. The larger town of Newton Stewart known as the Gateway to the Galloway Hills, also has many excellent shops and places to eat.
With the Galloway Forest and Dark Skies Park close by, Bel-Mar is ideally placed to enjoy your stay whether it be a relaxing or action packed adventure. Enjoy the rugged coastlines and secluded sandy beaches which benefit from the warmth of the passing Gulf stream. There are many beautiful gardens to explore, including the world renowned Logan Botanical Gardens. The area boasts many pretty little ports like Sandhead, Portpatrick and the RSPB Scotland Mull of Galloway Nature Reserve where thousands of seabirds nest in the cliff face during the spring and summer. The area is also perfect for walkers, golfers and cyclists. Beach 4 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

Welcoming, cosy, very clean and well equipped. Thoughtful touches such as welcome hamper, sewing kit. Perfect location for walks, exploring and relaxation. We didn't want to leave! Would definitely return
