About this property

10 Bed in Laggan (oc-d650852)

  • This impressive lodge is perfectly suited to large families, multi-generational groups or friends gathering together, with generous space and a sociable layout. Set near Laggan within the Cairngorms, it’s ideal for outdoor enthusiasts, with activities including mountain biking at Wolftrax, walking around the Spey Reservoir and hiking in the Monadhliath Mountains. Fishing, stalking and shooting are available on the surrounding estate, while nearby Aviemore (27 miles) and the surrounding Cairngorms National Park offer skiing, water sports and wildlife experiences. The estate itself also provides traditional Highland pursuits such as fishing and stalking.

Approached via a sweeping driveway, the impressive stone-built lodge immediately reflects its Victorian heritage. Entry is via a covered porch leading into a large reception hall, where a wood burner and feature staircase create a warm and welcoming focal point. From here, guests can access the main living areas, including a spacious drawing room with comfortable seating and an open fire, and a formal dining room, also with an open fire, ideal for hosting group meals against a scenic Highland backdrop. The kitchen is traditionally styled and well-equipped, centred around an AGA and supported by a large pantry and additional storage. A separate office or gun room, cloakroom and multiple WCs complete the ground floor. Upstairs, the first floor hosts a mix of flexible bedrooms, thoughtfully finished in keeping with the property, including zip-and-link king rooms, twins and singles, alongside several bathrooms with both showers and roll-top baths. The second floor provides further accommodation, including a double room, triple rooms and additional singles, plus extra bathroom facilities.

Outside, the lodge is surrounded by extensive grounds with views across the river and mountains, offering plenty of space to relax and enjoy the peaceful setting. Garden furniture awaits for outdoor dining, and the wider estate provides direct access to walking routes and wildlife spotting opportunities. Ample private parking is available for up to seven or eight cars, making it convenient for large groups arriving together.
