Hôtel Vacances Bleues Le Royal

"We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and got one of their most expensive rooms on the 1st floor. It was very spacious and the balcony was wonderful. It was large with an umbrella and great views. The problem started 10 minutes after we were in the room when there was a roach running on the floor and one in the bed. We caught the one in the bed and took it to the front desk. Needless to say we were upset and all we were told by the manage is that it happens and they would send someone up to roach bomb the room. We went back to the room for a few minutes and then went back to the desk and asked for a room change which they hesitantly offered. The next day we asked the front desk for any type of basic compensation ( a bottle of champagne or dinner credit at their restaurant or something similar). We were told that they did all they needed to do by changing our room (which we had to request ourselves). We spent a lot of money and tried to have a special 50th celebration but it was interrupted by roaches and rudeness. The hotel is in a great location and if this incident hadnt occurred I would rate it a 5 star."

"The location of this hotel is ideal as it is close to the beach and the train station. The staff is always pleasant and ready to serve. The hotel would need a refresh as its age is showing with dated rooms, old carpets in the rooms and common areas, elevators, decor, etc. Although the bed was a king size, the mattress is not comfortable and the air conditioning is not efficient considering the hot weather in Nice. We have been at this hotel in the past and would only return knowing that renovations are completed to truly rate it as a 4-star hotel. If you are planning to stay there, you would need to accept some of the deficiencies during your visit."

"The hotel is very well located. Shops restaurants bars are all within walking distance. Overall the hotel is nice and clean but will certainly gain in comfort soon as the hotel’s branding is changing. The staff is really nice. They did all they can to accommodate us."

"Good place to stay in for a short time as we were two with twin beds the room was a bit small but it’s clean, well maintained everyday the breakfast is very good worth it to have with them,near to the airport and 20 minutes with Tram to city center, for me I was happy with the experience"
