Hats off to Emelie and Thierry at The Novotel Nice

All the amenities were great and up to date. It was the people however who made the difference! Wonderful and accommodating and really, really pleasant. A special thank you to Amelie at the front desk and the manager Thierry. You guys are the very best!!!!

Great location, perfect for families

Very family friendly hotel, conveniently located close to airport, mall (with dining options), and beach with promenade (lined with restaurants). The hotel offered welcome gift for kids at checkin, free parking, and pool. Breakfast was available at cost but we did not try it, however coffee at onsite restaurant was great and reasonably priced.

The front desk staff were very kind and helpful. The hotel offered all the amenities we needed. It was just a short walk to dining options and the beach! We especially loved Felix the cat who greeted us in the lobby. Nice to have a built in mouser!

The nearby beach was disappointing—dirty and noisy because of the airport. While it’s one of the more affordable options, it’s definitely not the best choice. During our two-night stay, the refreshments in our room were never replenished, even after we contacted reception. At £222 per night without breakfast or dinner included, it felt overpriced.

Despite mention of recent renovations, the rooms were dated. Stucco walls felt like a humid cave. AC in room was weak. Shower diverter did not function - had to wash up under a tap. The fitness facility was closed. Damp smell in halls and rooms. Close to mall, beach and airport.

Too dusty with construction, noisy..

Construction on site and therefore hotel entrance and common areas are extremely dusty. Loud construction noise until midnight, CRAZY! There's a cat that roams around in the restaurant and is allowed near the tables while having dinner, uncomfortable. The staff at restaurant are kind, the reception need a bit more of customer service. Will not come back.

Breakfast opinion and overall

Hotel has been redecorated and rooms are nice, lobby and restaurant. The problem is breakfast. For the price over 200€ per night you get very limited choices. The is no fruits. Not even bananas to eat yogurt with cereal. A little bit of ham, some carrots and even they run out of bread. It has to been improved if they want to keep guests. Staff was getting angry when we asked them about additional items. There was even no cutleries on the table.

Terrible reception staff and not comfortable room

Check in is 3 onwards. We arrived at 3:30 and were told our room would be half an hour. The reception staff were slow and getting information from them was like pulling teeth. We went to the bar to wait. Bar staff was excellent but informed us that because this isn't high season (7-8/6) they didn't have the ingredients to make cocktails or their full range of snacks? There also was no food to purchase until 7pm, not even nibbles. No one mentioned this off season factor when we paid full price for the hotel. Our room had a double bed and sofa bed, as agreed. The beds were very uncomfortable and incredibly squeaky. The ac did nothing and the room was very humid and warm (BEFORE anyone had a shower in the bathroom which didn't have an extractor fan). Breakfast was not great. Technically a good range of food offered but most of it was empty (at 7am) and took ages to get filled back up. Check out was as unimpressive as check in. We had ordered a shuttle to the airport and reception staff asked us to wait outside with no further information. Will not stay again and wouldn't recommend.

Don’t stay here

Do not stay here unless the smell of damp and cigarettes, wet floors and sewage are something you enjoy. The rooms and the bed linen smell of damp sewage and old cheese. We moved room twice, rooms 142, 226, 434. The first room the air was damp and stank of cigarettes. We then found cigarette butts behind the sofa which explained the smell. The second room had a wet carpet - the toilet had clearly been leaking and reading other reviews this is an ongoing problem. The 3rd room smelt awful and the staff member obviously tried to cover up the smell with room freshener, the smell of sewage and damp fabric was horrible, also spotted blood on the sheets, but we just needed sleep at this point as it was getting late. The smell of damp cheese or as someone else said, damp raccoon, unfortunately seeped into our clothes and we could smell it all the way home. The lights in the third room didn’t work only the main light. I asked for a refund so we could book some where else but was refused on the grounds there was no manager there. It’s obvious this sort of thing happens regularly as the staff member gave us new keys straight away and didn’t even come with us to check the issues. not sure how anyone could rate this hotel 10/10 Yes the staff we pleasant enough but not enough that you can ignore the state of this out of date, damp, smelly and run down hotel

Great for getting to/ from the train and hotel. Loved that they held our bags for us before check in, and a great welcome box for our young son. We only stayed one night, but will consider this hotel for a longer stay based on the kids amenities and location.

Fantastic staff, very accommodating. Great shuttle service. Very close to a shopping-mall with lots of dining options and the beach is right there too. HOWEVER: swimming pool area infested with mosquitoes! We were there only ten minutes and were bitten everywhere, even on our faces. This is a great economic hotel otherwise.
