Great boutique style hotel. Really good value breakfast and super helpful staff. One thing to be aware of. Walls between rooms are very thin. You can hear everything from the room next door. We had to complain about noise during our stay. To their credit the staff dealt with it swiftly.

We absolutely loved our stay here, lovely room with great facilities. We felt really safe and all the staff were super friendly. The breakfast was good value and tasty. It is well positioned being so close to the train station. Would definitely stay here again!

the hotel is nicely designed and colorfully decorated - its a nice change from boring beige walls! unlimited coffee, tea and water in reception area was awesome. the room was spacious, has everything you need, comfortable, clean etc. there is a lift but its really small as it is an older building so if you have lots of luggage or travelling in a group, you may have to go up/down a few times to get your stuff to the room! nevertheless, this is a minor setback. it was a lovely and memorable stay here. highly recommend it. great value, reasonable price. book now!

Hello Madam,First of all, we are sorry that your stay was not up to your expectations. All the characteristics of the rooms (size, equipment...) are indicated on the reservation websites. However, we advise you to book a superior room of 17m² instead of the standard room of 15m² for your next stay. The hotel is located in the city centre opposite the railway station (geographical situation indicated on the website) which sometimes causes some noise pollution, which is why we provide our guests with earplugs. Look for other options!
Where do I start. If you are making trips to the nearby cities the location is great. 5 min walk to the train station. Also, staff is friendly and helpful. However, I think that if you’re looking for a 4 star hotel in Nice there are better options. You are not getting what you paid for in this hotel. Rooms are noisy, you can hear everything. Unfortunately, our upgraded room (as part of the gold member program) room had a weird smell and when we looked at the shower there was mold everywhere. Very disappointing and we would not recommend this place to anyone.

Overall decent place to stay
Excellent price for a great hotel location - 5-minute walk from the station- and 15-minute walk to the beach and old town. Funky hotel design and room vibes. Comfortable bed but not a fan of the soft pillows. I was at first annoyed I was given a 1st floor room facing the street when I had asked for a quiet room but excellent double glazed windows meant I heard no street noise. Only noise I did hear were some guests outside their doors talking late at night and my husband told them to shush. Great Wifi. Excellent water pressure in the shower but no bath floor towel?! And the handle of our bathroom door was broken. Very friendly check-in.

The staffs were wonderful! Vera and Alim were Super! Usually hotel does not allow for early check-in but Alim helped me for early check-in after long flight from Seoul, South Korea. I was deadly tired but his help was super! And hotel offered unlimited coffees and waters in the lobby. That was one of the best part of this hotel! I could get fresh sparking water all the time and so much loved it. I will visit Villa Bougainville for sure whenever I visit Nice again! This hotel was the face of Nice for me. The only staff was nice and help me call other hotel after he mentioned the AC for the rooms are not working. What surprised me was he said Expedia knows this from a month ago but I don't recall any note regarding the Faulty Air condition otherwise I would not book at all.

Disaster- Avoid this place
Arrived at 9pm to be told at reception they were full. Despite having booked in advance and paid in full, we were told with a shrug that it was hotels.com's fault for overbooking. No hotels in the area left so we had to pay 400EUR for a night in a horrible hostel. When we told hotels.com to try and get our money back they said they would contact Villa Bougainville to confirm they cancelled the reservation. Apparently, the hotel denied that this happened. We only got our money back because hotels.com gave us a "one time exception" refund.

Staffs are kind and welcoming! The location was okay close to Villa Nice station but I felt a bit unsafe in night... I would understand the current situation but breakfast was very poor, my room was super small and air conditioner is not working properly so that I could not sleep well. Overall I was disappointed as I expected the hotel as a 4 stars hotel.

The location, close to the train station, was good for us. The room was a little small but okay, The room colours were extreme, very dark and not to our taste. The breakfast area is too small, and the food was adequate but certainly nothing special. The young lady who checked us in was exceptionaly pleasant and helpful. She was, by far, the best part about the property.

Dear Guest, We are sorry to read that we did not manage to fully reach your expectations during your stay. Our hotel's identity is inspired by Louis-Antoine de Bougainville, the former owner of the place and a French writer and explorer. For this reason, exoticism is present everywhere, even in the painting and tapestry of the rooms. We can totally understand that it is not to your tastes however, you can clearly see the colours on our photos. Concerning the breakfast, for now we are offering 11 types of products and very soon, new products we will be at guests' disposal. But, we will be glad to hear some recommendations from you about the breakfast. However, it is a very good thing if the proximity with the train station was a good thing for you. Also, we are very happy that you appreciated the receptionist. They are always very happy when guests are satisfied of their services. Villa Bouganville is nicely photographed online. Do not fall for the trendy wallpaper and decor, that is all this place has to offer. Cleanliness of hotel was disappointing and location was not ideal. This hotel I can see being well suited for young travelers on summer vacation. Not suitable for couples looking for more comfortable conditions and amenities. Also note they do not offer queen beds if you are a couple it is two two twin beds pushed together with a shared sheet. The hotel is also located next to train tracks and was often noisy at night. This might only apply to rooms located with street view. Another frustrating aspect was on multiple occasions staff would open our door after one quick knock before we could let them in. Luckily we were always fully dressed, but it was disturbing and never any reason to enter. We were confused by this. With all Nice has to offer, look elsewhere. On a positive note the reception staff was pleasant and they held our bags for several hours after check out while we explored the city more until our evening flight.

Dear Nicole, We are very sorry to read that your stay has not lived up your expectations. Concerning the cleaning, we are very sorry for that as it is very unusual. Be sure that our rooms and common places are cleaned everyday. I will check and talk with the concerned people. At the same time, staff that enters in your room are only housekeepers and they do not enter without reason, they just want to clean your room. However, I will let them know to give more time to customers to answer before entering. Concerning the location, as you mentioned it, we are located at 5 minutes from the train station and 10 minutes from the city centre. So, we are located in a quite lively area. Indeed, rooms with view on the backyard have not this problem of noise. However, our location has also advantages as it is very easy for customers to visit Nice but also the nearby cities thanks to our proximity with the train station. Regarding our beds, it allow rooms to be easily transformed in double or twin room. We did not have complaint about that before but thank you for telling us. We will try to look if we can find another solution! However, we are very glad that you appreciated the staff who has been helpful during your stay.
