Bourbon Orleans Hotel

"Beautiful hotel, clean, great service, but very noisy. We liked the pictures and location, so we called ahead to ask which were the quietest rooms. We were told anything facing the courtyard was quiet, so we splurged on walk-out rooms to the pool, and it is true that we couldn't hear even a whisper of noise from nearby Bourbon Street. There was a bit of noise during the day from speakers oddly located only above the walk-out room doors, plus some chatter from pool users, but once we hit the weekend the noise level during the day was overwhelming and the small pool/courtyard area basically not usable because the hotel likes to open it up to non-hotel guests--another puzzling decision. It's not a big resort-style pool, only about 20 chairs, and they like to post up all day, so it doesn't leave much room for actual hotel guests. The location also left us open to an outrageous level of noise from the band in the hotel bar. That ended promptly at midnight but it meant that if we wanted to relax in our room at all we couldn't do so until midnight, which isn't ideal when you have an early wake-up. Also, the pool opens at 7 a.m., so you'll have an early wake-up whether you planned it or not, because random people from other hotels will have their kids there bright and early! I recommend this hotel if you can guarantee a courtyard-facing room, preferably on the top floor. Everything else was fantastic, but the noise is untenable."

"Room was basic but very comfortable. I loved the area! A lot of history and rich architecture. I plan on returning to the hotel and the area as there was too little time on this trip and there was absolutely too much to see, to do, to eat!"

"Room was clean, bed was very comfortable but overall the property is aging, some Sheetrock repairs and paint needed in hallways and on our floor there was an unpleasant food odor both days that never dissipated. But they brought us a nice bottle champagne for our Anniversary and that was a treat!"
