With new COVID-19 safety guidelines to adhere to, travel looks a little different these days. Here's what you need to know before you get on that plane to Nordheide:

• Understand the rules and restrictions in both your destination and origin. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so be sure to check before you lock something in.
• Requirements state that you must wear a face mask at the airport, including at screening checkpoints. You should be prepared to adjust your mask to verify your identity when asked by a TSA employee.

• Separate any food you have for X-ray screening. Placing it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA agent to handle and inspect your belongings.
