"First, there was a $250 deposit, which was more than expected for a 2 night stay. It was returned within 48 hours of checkout. The staff was nice. The room had cheap wicker furniture and beds were more like cots. The upstairs room we were in had a huge roof slant and had to duck to use the bathroom and sleep with my head towards the headboard to fit. "The hotel was very clean. The rooms are very well kept love the high floor ocean front view. The showers are amazing. My only complaint about this hotel is we were only giving one parking pass per room although the room was booked for two adults. I feel like that is not very accommodating. What if someone wants to book a room for a whole family five or six adults with two beds and a sofa bed obviously they’re going to be more than one parking pass leaving you defend for yourself and your vehicle finding parking on the street where you’re paying for and have to walk to and from your vehicle every morning it’s just an inconvenience and I feel like for the money spent on the hotel they should better accommodate the parking situation at the hotel other than that everything was exceptionally good. They cleaned our rooms every day. I like that they provide complementary water bottles, but at most hotels if you come down to the front and ask for a water bottle and you’re paying hotel guest they will give it to you not this hotel. They only offered you the two water bottles when you first got there but still highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for something affordable, clean and right on the beach."

"The front desk staff is amazing! Seriously they are some of the nicest, most welcoming staff I have encountered in my many hotel stays. The rooms are always super clean when we arrive and the staff is more than willing to assist should we need area information, extra towels, or any sort of assistance. My favorite thing about Schooner Inn? They are a small business that supports charities including one for cancer and Surfers Healing. They are right on the beach with ocean views. You truly can't beat it."

"Moved out of state and have returned a few times to take care of business with quick overnights. This hotel meets our needs. Is close to our old home in Chesapeake and has breakfast for my 3 year old. Nothing spectacular here, but nothing to complain about either."

"Room was clean and staff was great other than the housekeepers they were rude. I was half scared to ask for and exchange for clean towels. After the attitude she gave another guest.. the free breakfast though was not Great either. I found a hair in my potatoes one morning. And the next day my son did. In his orange juice... so we spent the end of the stay going out to breakfast. It was insanely busy everymorning anyways..the pool was shut down. For two of the days we were there but never got in it because the water always looked brown... the staff at the main desk was always helpful and nice. The parking garage is nice being attached to the hotel though. But a bit annoying if you want to leave. The room itself was great though. The couch sleeper wasnt terrible either. Other than the breakfast and the pool.. id stay again."

"Property is very nice. Staff is helpful. Rooms pretty clean. Ocean view rooms on the south side(416), are right above the restaurant. Noisy and smelly kitchen exhaust is the only complaint, but it happens with a beachfront restaurant attached to a hotel. Pool nice, parking isnt horrible, but a block away. Plan your luggage loading and unloading."
