Hotel Godafoss
10/10 Excellent
"The location was perfect, right across the street from the falls. In the morning, before the busses and crowds arrive, you can have the waterfall to yourself. I find Godafoss to be one of the most beautiful falls in Iceland. The hotel breakfast, while not included, was very good. A large selection with a beautiful view."

"This hotel is fantastic! The rooms are very beautifully appointed - very modern and thoughtful in what is important for couples traveling. The breakfast is impressive. The location is walking distance to everything center city. The staff from reception to dining room to housekeeping - the best! For future travelers I would recommend new photos be added as the current photos really do not reflect this wonderful property!"

"Wonderful host who made everything so smooth. There was no parking available at the location, but we were told we could park for free on a side street. The laundry was free and even the tide pods were free! Great kitchen and layout of the apartment."

"We stayed with two kids. Room was great. Spacious and clean. Bathroom was very modern and clean. Great location and everything was walkable. We didn’t try the restaurant downstairs but it looked very good. Parking for free across the street from 4pm to 10am, and then in the harbor if you need to park free during the day. Lots of things to do in Akureyri - we went whale watching"

"The hotel is on an isolated hill with a large view of the surrounding area. Myvatn lake is visible in the distance. The restaurant was excellent. The chef has done some very creative things with with his dishes and his adaptable to eating restrictions. Overall, the only challenge is the midges which is very common in myvatn"
