"This place was old and needed some upkeep on the grounds but the room was comfortable and clean. The park is across the street and there is an Italian bar/restaurant right next door. I would probably stay there again if in the area."

"Breakfast Sunday AM was lacking GRAVY, Biscuits were cold rocks. Oatmeal could stand up and walk away, so thick. Eggs were a warm delight. Sausage was tasty but not worth mouthful of grease, ugh. Room cheerful, clean, with an easy operating thermostat. Soaps, shampoo, etc., easily reached. TV very simple to operate."

"We stayed at this cottage for 3 weeks. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was so nice to sit out on the deck and watch all of the ducks, geese and Mergansers swim by with their babies in tow. We even had a doe and two fawns walk by the cottage and walk out to a small island just off of the beach and then disappear into the trees. The sunrise over Long Lake is spectacular. Lots to explore around the area. Alpena is a neat town with much maritime history. The cottage was clean and well stocked with cooking and kitchen utensils. Ryan was attentive to our needs and checked to see if we needed anything. Again, we enjoyed our stay very much.Andy and Jackie R."

"This hotel was perfect for me and my two kids! Our room was pool side so the location was extremely convenient. The hot tub was actually hot! And the pool and play area was so fun for my kids! Hotel was clean. Staff was very nice and helpful. We hope to come stay again one day! Highly recommend!!"

"House is just as described, stayed cool even in the 92 degree heat. Only thing I wish the row boat was in the water. Not the easiest putting it in and taking it out. Kyaks were in excellent shape."

"We had a perfect stay on Lake Huron at Marina’s Cabin! The cabin is very clean. Everything you need for a relaxing week on the beach is available. Games, puzzles, chairs, a kayak for exploring, etc. The beach is beautiful and clean, my kids spent the entire week rock hunting and swimming! We hope to be back next summer. 10/10 stay!"

"The kitchen was extremely nice and well provisioned.....everything you need to prepare your own meals and then some. Very comfortable home and much more accommodating than a hotel room. The home is only about 5 - 10 minutes from Meijer and Walmart for groceries or other needs. Our schedule did not allow for it, but during the summer months there is a farmer's market near the beach. For dining out, I recommend the Red Brick Tap & Barrel on River St. If you are a little adventurous, consider Negwegon State Park, south of Alpena in Black River.I grew up in Alpena and went back for the first time in many years to visit friends. The town has certainly changed and having homes like Huron Haus to rent for your stay, especially if you have a family, is a great option. My wife commented multiple times how happy she was we chose this home to stay in and it was more relaxing than a hotel."
