The COVID-19 pandemic has affected how the world works in all kinds of ways, including how we're able to safely travel. These tips will help you better understand the new challenges and prepare you for your flight to Northwest Akron:

• Investigate if any travel restrictions apply to your destination and origin before booking your flight. Also check if there are any conditions you'll have to follow on arrival, such as testing and quarantining.
• Wear a face mask even during airport screening. A TSA officer will ask you to lower your mask temporarily for ID purposes.
• Rather than handing a TSA employee your boarding pass, place it directly on the scanner yourself. When that's done, hold it up for inspection.
• One liquid hand sanitizer container is now permitted in your carry-on baggage. It must be no bigger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll need to take it out of your bag at the X-ray machine for scanning.
• Empty your personal items from your pocket, like your wallet, coins and keys, and place them in your carry-on instead of into bins. This will minimize handling during screening.
• Transport any food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Separating food from your carry-on means it's less likely a TSA employee will need to touch and open your bag for inspection.
