If it's your first time travelling during COVID-19, you'll notice a raft of new rules and regulations in place. Follow these tips and make your journey to Northwest Alabama a smooth one:

• Look into the restrictions and rules in both your destination and origin. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so be sure to check in advance.
• Wear a face mask even during airport screening. A TSA officer will require you to adjust your mask for ID purposes.
• Instead of handing a TSA officer your boarding pass, position it directly on the scanner yourself. When that's done, hold it up for inspection.
• One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now permitted in your carry-on baggage. It must not be larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll need to remove it from your bag at the X-ray machine for scanning.
• Place any personal items (e.g, wallet, keys and phone) in your carry-on rather than a bin to minimize handling during the screening process.
• If you're planning to take food through security screening, place it in a clear plastic bag and then into a screening bin. This reduces the likelihood that a TSA officer will need to handle your carry-on bag or food container for closer inspection.

As lockdowns start to lift, airlines have resumed business with new measures including social distancing and staggered boarding and disembarkation. Here's what a few carriers are doing to ease the spread of COVID-19:
