"Drive is decent to/from Cedar Point, close to other local attractions. The home is clean but not comfortable. It’s newly remodeled but poor craftsmanship. Bugs were able to get into the house, we kept finding large ants. Small for more than 4 people, there were 5 of us. Only 1 bathroom so that made it a little tough for us. "We would absolutely stay here again. It was a great location close to great restaurant options and pretty views of the downtown and water. In the reviews I read the biggest complaint was the noise level. You could clear as day hear any conversations of other rooms if you were in the hallway. Once inside our rooms it wasn’t as bad but we are pretty easy sleepers and other guests were very respectful."

"Staff was very nice at check in, property was clean, safe (no rif raff or noisy guests), & room was clean. Price was just right on this one & we would def stay again as we were only in the room for 9hrs to sleep after attending Cedar Point & headed there again first thing in the morning. Furnishings were outdated & seen better days, BUT the beds were clean & comfortable, the shower had good water pressure, & that's all we needed to sleep before getting back to the park! At that price we will def be back! :)"

"First time staying at South Shore. It was quiet. Very clean. Comfortable and was very close to Cedar Point. Very affordable, but seemed a bit dated. I liked supporting an independent hotel. They welcomed me with cold bottled water which was a very nice touch after a long trip. The breakfast was cereal, yogurt, toast/bagels, bananas/apples, and had pancake machines. The pool seemed fun with slides, but I didn’t utilize it.,The staff were very kind. Only critique was that the room door didn’t have a working deadbolt, bathroom was pretty narrow and the mattress was a bit uneven. Would I stay here again, most likely."

The only unfavorable issue was that every time I needed to return to the room I needed to go back to the front desk and get the card rekeyed for my room. "Beautiful establishment. The manager or owner when we arrived was very sweet, informative, and inviting. It had very nice rooms, cool, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. Pool area was clean and nice. Restaurant and seating were beautiful - we enjoyed sitting across the street on the water. Our only complaints were they were out of a couple appetizers and drinks during our dinner. Since we stayed during the week the outdoor bar was not open - which was communicated ahead of time, however, it would have been nice to utilize it! :-) The wifi connection was fair to poor - it was in and out often, we also had our television connection, when we watched it just before bedtime, it was glitching so much we could not make out the picture of what was being said. We would recommend this hotel room everyone and we would stay again!"

"Beautiful place along Lake Erie. Love that it's in the water. Fun bar next door. Lots of places to walk or benches/swings to sit and enjoy the views. The sunset in the swimming cove was lovely. Nickel Beach down the road was nice ($7 parking) and cleaner than the beach by the hotel. Plenty of places to eat in Sandusky which is 11 minutes away. Typical breakfast, clean room and extremely comfy beds. Worth the stop!"
