Kanuka Bay - water view, peaceful.



  • Come and relax on the deck with stunning water views. In the evening you can sit in the private 4 person spa pool and hear Kiwi, Morepork and Weka calling. Watch the start and end of the boat racing Wednesday, Friday and Sunday afternoons in summer while enjoying a drink on the deck!

    We are 7 minutes drive to Russell Township where you will find cafe's, restaurants and shops. Also close by are all the stunning beaches the Bay of Islands has to offer where you can enjoy swimming, fishing, surfing, sunbathing or just a casual stroll. Within 3 minutes walk is the start of the scenic boardwalk/bushwalk to Russell or explore Okiato, the area that was once New Zealand's first capital. Paihia is a short drive away (8KM) via the Car Ferry. Within a 2min drive is the Omata Estate Vineyard.

    There are plenty of tourist attractions on offer in the area. The unit contains a folder with a good selection of brochures we are sure that you will find something that suits your taste.

    The unit is modern and comfortable for up to 4 people. The double glazed windows keep it warm in the cooler months. Good quality bedding, linen and towels are included with the cost. The Full sized kitchen has a full fridge/freezer and full oven and hob. All furniture including a Smart T.V. for those rainy days.

    We do ask that you do not use antibacterial soaps in the flat as it destroyes our on site sewerage system. Thank you.

Excellent property, fabulous view.

Jenny’s place is spotlessly clean and very spacious for a couple or family of four. It is well equipped with everything you need to cook a meal and the beds are comfortable. The view from the deck and indeed the living room is spectacular and the whole area of Russell is gorgeous. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Nice, clean, modern & has everything you need 🙂 The view is amazing, from the green of the mountains to the blue of the water & the boats!! Incredible Okiato Stay

After arriving in NZ and getting our bearings, the Bay of Islands was the first place we visited, and wow! We'd give the location 6 stars! Being able to sit on the deck (or in the hot tub) and watch the sail boat races was priceless. The house had everything we needed, and Russell was a short and scenic drive for groceries or the ferry to Pahia. We would definitely stay here again!

Kanuka Bay Splendour

The stay at Kanuba was even better than provided in the photos. This Bach provides total peace and ultimate relaxation with an awesome view over the Inlet. The place is clean, spacious with all amenities provided in good order. The spa on the deck is an exceptional bonus. The hosts are wonderful and very accommodating. An awesome stay, thank-you.

Relaxing Location

Jenny and Ken provide a beautiful space with an updated look including new carpet. It immediately felt welcoming. The views were spectacular day and night whether sitting on the deck, in the hot tub or viewing from the open space living area. It is a great opportunity to have a private and relaxing holiday.

Great Hosts and Stunning Views

Firstly the host Jenny was amazing, she was very prompt with communication and made us feel at home. The views were breathtaking. We had a brilliant stay in Jenny’s small but perfectly formed property. The view is amazing. The spa pool was a highlight. The property had everything we needed and was in a very quiet and safe location. Jenny was very helpful. We left an item behind and she kindly helped us arrange for shipping back to our home.
