Rustic Mtn. Elegance with Views located Btwn Highlands-Cashiers-Lake Glenville!

"Best place I can imagine for a family Vacation. We have stayed here 5 or 6 times for a week at a time and love going back. The house is charming and the location and views are wonderful. We go with our 5 children and 3 grandchildren. Would also be ideal for 4 couples. The host, Gig, is terrific. Can't say enough about it"

"A small 1 level hotel which is family run and you could definitely tell the difference. What a wonderful visit. First, I called and spoke with Steve (owner) and advised that we would be late checking in. He advised that was not a problem as I would get an email with room number and code to access the room, ice house and pantry. Loved checking in this way and being able to leave the room without worrying that I had my key ( have had to get duplicates more than once). The room was modern and very clean. Below the hotel were several restaurants and an ice cream shop- very convenient. As we were leaving, we ran into Steve and mentioned that the bathroom door was sticking, he thanked us and said he would take care of it. Unlike mentioning something like that in a large hotel where you know the info would not be passed on to be addressed. I can highly recommend Hotel Cashiers!!"

"My family absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful home! We had previously stayed here when it was under different ownership, and it was clear that Mark and Emily have invested a great deal of time and care into making the property even more enjoyable. One of our favorite features was the fire pit, where we spent evenings making s’mores and roasting biscuits on a stick. That said, my daughter would probably say the hot tub was the highlight of the trip! The location is perfect—nestled between Highlands and Cashiers, it truly feels like a little slice of heaven. After traveling more than eight hours to reach North Carolina, we were delighted to arrive and find that Emily had thoughtfully stocked the kitchen with eggs, bacon, orange juice, and bread. What made this gesture even more special was that Emily remembered a casual comment I had made during the booking process about how considerate the previous owner had been, often leaving breakfast items for guests. Mark and Emily went above and beyond by continuing that tradition themselves. Their thoughtfulness and hospitality made us feel incredibly welcome and set the tone for a wonderful stay. We highly recommend this home and look forward to returning!"

"I would stay here again! We booked a last minute room for two week nights. Pleasant reception and attention by Baden! We bought a bottle of lovely white wine and a couple of beers from the nice selection in the lobby. Two stemmed wine glasses were in the sitting area of our room which had a large balcony with sliding screen door, chairs and a table where we could hear the "Big Creek" run. Lovely grounds, courtyard with fun toys which was kept tidy, and The Oak restaurant where we dined on our first evening, thanks to nabbing one of two later dinner reservations. We enjoyed pre-dinner drinks in the stylish comfy lounge where we had a great conversation with another couple, then were delivered to our table early for an upscale dinner with top notch service. Having said that, there were some hiccups which we informed upon checkout; concern was shown and notes were taken. 1) We did not want for hot water on demand. While the shower had nice hardware (hand held included) it was neary impossible to find a non-scalding temperature. The sink faucet handles were loose so water would not flow unless the bases were held while turning the handles. 2) Front desk replaced the battery in the electric fireplace remote, but it still would not turn on. 3) We had to dispatch several insects in the bathroom (well, we were in the forest) and 4) the structure is older, so folks walking in the room above our bed sounded as though they might fall through. Even so, I adore this lodge!"

Nestledown - Peaceful Mountain Retreat!

"Nestledown was a cozy, comfortable, very clean cottage buried in the woods surrounded by rhododendrons. Brian gave us all the info we needed before arriving and answered any questions promptly. The front porch and back deck were perfect places to sit and relax in the beauty of the forest. We highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a perfect place to rest and unwind."
