Great motel all around and delivers on its promise of providing accomodation. Room is serviced every day and they change everything. It's located in a very inconvenient part of Old Saybrook where you have to drive quite a bit to go anywhere. It is right by highway 95 which you can hear all night.

The blanket had gross crusted stains on it. Whoever was on the floor above, it was so loud. They sounded like they were stomping all over the whole night. Air quality was awful in the room. We stayed here for price and it was not worth it. Spend the extra money and stay in a nice clean place

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Liberty Inn. Room was clean and it was a comfortable nights sleep after a busy day of travel. The man at the front desk was also friendly and gave recommendations for where to eat. We would stay again!

The Inn is quaint and it is clean. The owner was friendly on check-in and gave me a pet friendly room even though I was supposed to call ahead and did not know to do so. My biggest challenge was trying to sleep. The bed itself was very comfortable but the Inn is right across the street from I-95 so it is like you are literally sleeping out by highway. You should bring a white noise machine or ear plugs if you plan on sleeping. The bathroom light was burned out and they were using a flood light with one of the heat lamp covers off of it as the lighting source. That was really the only minor issue that I noticed with my room. I probably would not stay here again due to the highway noise and while this property comes up as being close to the casinos, it is actually about 45 minutes away.

No frills, safe place to stay. Not super updated or modern if that is important to you. I find it a reliable place that allows dogs and is convenient in my travels between NY and Ct.

Nice, quiet and clean older property with minimal amenities. Staff was super nice. Location isn't the best as it sits on a hill and walking places from there is not optimal. However, there is a shopping area about 3 minutes away by car, along with gas stations, restaurants and pharmacies.

It was a good stay. I had a really good king size bed was comfortable. It’s an older hotel, but clean friendly I would stay there again for sure.

Not wheelchair friendly for family vacations
The room was clean and comfortable. It is a bit aged and could use a little tlc but just what we needed on a tight budget. Not happy that all of the two bed rooms were upstairs making it difficult for my elderly dad to walk the stairs. In addition, there were no coffee cups in room and no continental breakfast as advertised. If in area I might stay again if price was right.

Overall, this was the perfect place for us. The room was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The location isn’t central but everything is very close by by driving (within 3 minutes). Our room had everything we needed and the corridors were neat and clean, well-maintained. We would definitely stay here again!! Price was good.

When I woke up this morning and was getting ready in the bathroom, I found a baby cockroach. I immediately packed up my things and left the room, hoping for an improvement in hygiene.

Clean- most important. Relatively quiet for being so close to highway. Disappointed continental breakfast has been discontinued since COVID, yet their website still advertises it 3 years later. Overall a decent stay for the area.

Next to highway and too noisy. Plus heard sirens twice overnight as well. Too bright in room as curtains didn’t block out the highway street lights. No late checkout available. It was clean and had a comfortable bed.

Easy access to highway but go slow when approaching address or you'll pass their quick uphill driveway and will need to enter at their exit driveway. Although highway sounds noisy from the outside its quiet inside for a restful sleep. Room was clean and frig and microwave were convenient. Internet connection is hit or miss. Coffee packets provided in room were subpar.

I always stay here when I visit Connecticut. They have upgraded each time I visit. The rooms are clean and the sheets and towels are fresh. It is a basic room with no frills. It is close to the highway, there is noise, but I enjoy it. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I will continue to come back each time I visit.

Clean and comfortable
I stayed here while visiting friends in town and it was the perfect location right off of 95. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable with a lot of pillows and very soft blanket. Thankfully you can’t hear the highway much once you are inside the room. I would definitely stay here again in the future. The price is very reasonable!

Buggy but good location
Short version: we encountered numerous insects, still managed to sleep, and received a partial refund. The owner said he would get the pests removed soon. Long version: soon after my family and I arrived at Liberty Inn in the evening, I saw two adult, probably German cockroaches on the walls. There were also numerous small insects on the walls that I couldn't identify, but which were probably not carpet beetles or bedbugs. Later I saw a couple of them in the rug so perhaps they were related to carpet beetles, but I wasn't as worried about them. My family was exhausted so we decided to stay put, since it was only one night and there weren't any signs of bedbugs. Later I saw a couple of younger cockroaches (see photos), which suggested a current infestation. I submitted an online review/note to the owner. He wrote back and asked me to stop by before leaving. We managed to sleep well after a long day, despite the bugs. The next morning, the owner voluntarily gave me a partial refund and discounts on any future stays. He kindly assured me that the hotel took pests very seriously and that he hadn't known about the cockroaches before. He explained that there were monthly visits by a pest control service but that someone must have brought the insects with them when they visited. I hope that the concern he showed results in a strong attempt to stop the bug invasion(s) in its tracks, as soon as possible, for the sake of future travelers. Besides this the hotel was pretty ordinary.
