"This lovely spacious home was perfect for our group of 25. Clean, bright, inviting, modern with hints of history. Comfortable, a home with substance. This was our second time renting from our host, Lance, first meeting him several years ago when we stayed at the Briars, a stone's throw from the Varrell House, our current place. We knew going in that our stay would be memorable. Lance is knowledgeable and helpful, quick to respond with our questions. The well appointed kitchen had any and all cookware and utensils needed for our feast plus plenty of counter space for food prep or just sitting around knoshing. The dining table accommodated pretty near all of us at the same time, quite a feat with our family. The sitting rooms were filled with laughter and stories about my loved one, who's life was the reason for this weekend celebration. The garden courtyard with it's fire pit and grill became another favorite place to hang over our four day stay. We'll return to this beautiful home again, a year maybe, two? A sincere thank you to Lance for a memorable visit. Gorgeous home, lovely town, reliable caretaker. I highly recommend the Varrell House."

Dana greeted us warmly at check-in, gave us a comprehensive tour of the entire home, and took the time to explain all the amenities and features. His attention to detail and helpful recommendations made it easy for us to settle in and make the most of everything the property had to offer. He also provided excellent suggestions for local restaurants and activities that were perfect for our family, making our stay even more enjoyable.Our family of 13, spanning four generations, had an absolutely fantastic time. The home and property provided the perfect setting for everyone to relax, spend quality time together, and create lasting memories. There was something for everyone, and we all felt comfortable and at home throughout our stay. It is not always easy to find a place that accommodates such a large, multigenerational family so well, but this property exceeded every expectation.We cannot say enough about the beautiful home, the wonderful property, and Dana's exceptional hospitality. His thoughtfulness and genuine desire to make our stay special made a real difference in our experience. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our visit and are already looking forward to coming back. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a memorable family getaway!"

Oceanfront Carriage House Apt. w/ Spectacular Views

"What is excellent about this place is the 180-degree view and its proximity to beaches. And the price point for this view is excellent; these places with this kind of location tend to be in the 500-900 a night range. The reasons for the lower price are 1) the place is in dire need of updating — especially the porch and the bathroom. It is a little interesting to be sitting among such opulence (eg surrounded by mansions) when the place needs so much work. The patio chairs and little table are cheap plastic and dirty. 2) it needs air conditioning, especially because in the morning the sun blasts into the front room and it is almost impossible to be in it on a hot day in August. Even a mini split or portable would help tremendously. However, it is clean, the water pressure is divine, the beds are comfortable, and the hosts responsive. There is no over-promising in the ad. And again, that view… this is what you are paying what is a reasonable price. (But if the price shifts above 330/night without a note about substantive makeovers, I would rate this quite differently)."
