Absolutely loved this place! Our room was stunning, the staff was wonderful, and had such a great selection of little snacks. I can’t wait for another opportunity to stay here!
Room was beautiful and the location was great. Contactless which I wasn't sure about but was great. Easy code to get into the building and our room and check out was just as easy. Lovely Tea/Coffee bar with snacks. Will stay here again.
The stay here was such a treat. The details that made it feel luxurious were very well appointed. In an area that has had a boom of modern hotels and restaurants The Danforth reminds me of the class and history Portsmouth is built on. Have already recommended the Danforth to friends.
This is a quintessential New England Inn. It is beautifully maintained and decorated with all of the comforts you would expect from a high end hotel. Very clean, comfortable and conveniently located within walking distance to the charming Portsmouth downtown area. The free parking in the back was also a huge perk. We loved our stay and would highly recommend to others visiting the area looking to experience historic charm with modern amenities in a great location!
The Davenport Inn provided us with a satisfying day’s trip to Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The newly opened Inn was beautiful inside as out. The decor was exquisite. Nice touches with quality toiletries and other convenient items. Very clean as well. The location to downtown and other sightseeing areas all within walking distance. Oh, did I mention the delicious bake goods in the guest lounge - DELICIOUSLY good.
My husband and I recently spent a night at the historic Davenport Inn while visiting with our children. What a gorgeous property! Self check-in instructions were clearly communicated (including photos of parking area), the room was beautifully decorated and so comfortable. Convenient location, convenient parking! Highly recommend staying at the Davenport should you visit the Portsmouth area. I know we will!
Room was beautiful and layout was perfect. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was spacious and well equipped. Parking was easy with a designated space for each room.
Loved the code idea to get into building and room! Checkout easy!
The Inn is amazing....from the detailed restoration to the time piece decor. Rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable. The only issue we had was a problem with the shower. Other than that it would easily be 5 stars.
I highly recommend The Davenport Inn in Portsmouth NH. We recently stayed 2 nights for a quick weekend getaway. The property has been tastefully restored as a modern inn that retains its old-world historic property charm. Extremely clean and well maintained. This hidden gem with only 8 rooms is top of its class for a boutique hotel. The location to downtown is perfect being only a few minutes stroll through historic period neighborhoods. The concept of no onsite staff works well only communicating through text or calls. This also gives you an added sense of privacy. The owners are always available if anything is needed and checks in with you to ensure all your needs are met. The daily homemade goodies adds that personal touch not often seen. Keep this one on your short list.
The house and rooms are clean and stunning. The furnishings are comfortable, and the decor hosts a mix of history and modern appeal.
We stayed in the Penthouse, which is the entire attic. The renovation of this room made it cozy and spacious with more of a loft-like feel. There is a separate reading area by the window and a bookshelf full of texts with interesting history of the home and surrounding area. There were water and treats to welcome us, but there is a pantry on the ground floor with snacks and drinks to restock. The bed was comfortable and high off of the floor. The bathroom was very spacious with a double vanity sink, large dual head shower, and soaking tub. There are complimentary lavender soap bars and bath-bombs. For us, the location was ideal because it is extremely walkable to the busier locations in Portsmouth for dining, bars, and shops, yet Court St. was quiet with minimal traffic. The parking behind the inn is tight, but at least it’s included, and that is rare in this busy area. We were in Portsmouth to celebrate my husband’s 40th, so we had friends staying in two other rooms. The first (superior suite) and second floor (deluxe suite) rooms have more historical touches but were still tastefully modernized.
The only concern we have from our stay are issue we had with the showers and lack of hot, hot water one might expect at a luxury inn, this needs to be adjusted. The coded entry worked well but some guests were locked out in the AM too early.
