About this property

Lakefront Cabin: Private Dock • Near Boat Launch • Swim, Kayak, Fish • WiFi

  • Welcome to your peaceful lakefront cabin on Summit Lake, just 20 minutes from Olympia. Tucked among the evergreens, this cozy one-room retreat offers a private dock and direct lake access for swimming, kayaking, fishing, boating, and relaxing. It's ideal for solo travelers or couples looking for a quiet nature escape. Two-person kayak provided seasonally, subject to weather and equipment availability.

The cabin sleeps up to 2 adults on two comfortable fold-flat sofas with clean linens and pillows provided. The cozy living space includes a dining area, Roku smart TV, WiFi, and window A/C during June to August.

    Kitchen & outdoor living

The kitchen includes an oven, stovetop, microwave, refrigerator, cookware, and everything needed for simple meals or more ambitious cooking. There is no dishwasher, so dishes are washed by hand using the provided eco-safe soap.

The private deck has a BBQ grill and table for two. At the water's edge you'll find a picnic table, lawn chairs, and fire pit. Bring dry firewood and enjoy an evening by the lake.

    Lake & dock

Swim or fish directly from the private dock. A two-person kayak is provided for guest use. Small boats and kayaks may be launched at the nearby public boat ramp and tied to the dock during your stay. Please bring your own boat bumpers and lines.

    Bathroom, shower & water

The cabin uses an Incinolet incinerating toilet rather than a conventional flush toilet. It's easy to use, but guests must follow the provided instructions and use a liner for every use.

There is no indoor shower. A private outdoor shower is available May–September.

The property is not connected to a septic or municipal water system. All water is hand-delivered to the cabin and stored in a limited-capacity tank, so conservation is essential. Only provided eco-safe soaps may be used in the sinks and shower.

    Linens & towels

Clean sheets, pillows, mattress pads, and comforters are provided. Guests normally bring their own bath and swimming towels. Hand towels, washcloths, and kitchen towels are provided. If you're traveling and need bath or swimming towels provided, let me know in advance and I'll make arrangements.

    Good to know before booking

Sleeps a maximum of 2 adults.

    No pets, smoking, or parties.

Booking guest must provide photo ID and sign the rental agreement and Incinolet-use acknowledgment.

Summit Lake is known for its clear water, fishing, swimming, and paddling. Downtown Olympia's restaurants, shopping, groceries, and antique stores are about 20 minutes away. The Olympic Peninsula and Pacific Coast also make great day trips.

If you're looking for quiet mornings, beautiful sunsets, fresh air, and time on the water, this little lakeside cabin is a wonderful place to unplug.

It was a great location for our family reunion since the other cabin I rented cancelled last minute! Easy entry and beautiful views! Pull out couches were a little rough for me but not my younger kiddo! Rustic and cozy!

A lovely rainforest retreat

I was visiting Olympia to see a sick family member, and my friend and I stayed here for just a single night. The hosts were very friendly and responsive when we discovered the water hadn’t been turned on, but we were the first guests of the season, so we understood. It’s a terrific little hamlet on a lovely and clear lake. We used the two-person kayak and it was absolutely lovely. The lakeside fire pit was also very nice. We didn’t use the outdoor shower, yet did use the adorable stove and oven for tea and quiche, and it was a lovely and memorable meal. Highly recommended this little gem of a cabin. Many thanks to our wonderful hosts.

Lovely and quaint

Just sitting outside on the lounge chairs watching the activity on the lake was relaxing enough. Will definitely stay again and get in the water next time.

2nd stay won’t be the last

Love this cabin and the location does much that I came back the next time I visited Olympia. It’s exceedingly comfortable and quiet. Perfect for not doing anything or filling your time with hiking, swimming or kayaking and/or a little of both—see you next summer!

Lake place with Tree house vibe

This lovely little cabin has all the quaintness of the old style lake cabins but is completely set up with everything you’ll need for a relaxed stay. The view is stunning and the quiet and comfort was just what I needed. I brought my elderly Mom out for the day to get her out of COVID isolation. She had no difficulty with the 5 stairs from the road and was content to sit in the deck for the day and take in the view.

A grown-up treehouse on a lake

Lovely cabin getaway, in the trees, overlooking a beautiful lake. Great for solo or couple travellers. Optimal use of the incinerating toilet does require some planning.

Great place to stay

We had a fantastic time. The cabin was cute, cozy, and very comfortable. We had a great time sitting out on the balcony playing cards with the beautiful view of the lake. We would definitely stay again
